WSBK Round 3 - Valencia
Back at it after a two-week break. Valencia is Ducati land, so can Haga rekindle his season? Checa and Byrne should be quick along with Fabrizio. I expect Biaggi will be fast along with Haslam. Hopefully the Yamaha boys will be quick again and maybe the Honda guys to. Well, at least Rea.
Vermeulen is still out. Simon Andrews will fill in. Resch is back. Morais is still subbing. WSS just seems to be lackluster to me, which I wish were not the case. But we should see a Sofuoglu vs. Laverty vs. Lascorz battle. |

Checa quickest so far, good call Dani. Times look very competitive so far.
The kwakas were top in WSS. Hoping for a Lascorz win. |

All Italian machinery on the provisional front row. Six Ducati riders in the top ten, and eight Italian bikes in the top ten.

Great start by Corser, Checa is gonna take some beating - $hit, Checa's crashed out...
Great to see Corser lead a race again. Would these be the 1st laps BMW have led in WSBK? |

well .. the unexpected happened .. Haga wins from Checa(by 0.025) and Biaggi .. the first "3 laps" race influenced the final results a bit ..

Was actually a great ride from Nori, I think the weather certainly halped his bike as both Dukes were nowhere in the first race!
Corser fell away completely in this one! and Camier had a weird crash when leading. At one time, there were 6 Brits in first 8!! Not to be too patriotic, but thats not bad!! |

Camier seems a bit wild at this stage. But he definitely has pace.
Speaking of wild, when will Rea settle down a bit? Good ride from Haslam, dang he looks solid. Nice to see Haga back at it. Hopefully he'll get the bit between his teeth now and get back into it. |

More fantastic racing, alongside the MotoGP races this has to go down as one of the most thrilling weekends of racing in ages. I think this is the moment when the factory Ducatis symbolically overhaul the Althea squad, but Checa's doing a fantastic job and can realistically hope to at least match his 7th place in the standings last year. Good to see Byrne a bit closer to the pace in race 2. Camier had a couple of strange crashes, not sure if anything's been put out to explain them? Aprilia and BMW continue to move forward, and Yamaha have finally shown something in the races now, although Toseland's looking like Schumacher so far.
Lascorz won Supersport ahead of Sofuoglu and Davies BTW, with Laverty strangely fading to 5th behind another Triumph, David Salom. |
