well it's his thrid year in cars and his first that he will stay in the same category so jury is out surely?

Tio, well wow!! Of course reading the GP3's PR it's almost like he did nothing...

completely, though it'd be good to see some wins and podiums this year. but gp3 seems an odd decision in the first place!

I rellay dislike karting graduates and 17-year-olds doing GP3. They should do F-Ford / Abarth / Master, then F-Renault 2.0 and then F3 before it.

Well I think most would say that given the choice they would put F3 well ahead of GP flymo in their career ?

But lately the grids show a different picture... BF3 & F3ES combined will probably have as many cars as GP3.

That's not the point I was making....

What is the main (and I suspect only) reason GP3 will have bigger grids than F3?

they're contracted to turn up too - aren't rsc mucke motorsport having a bit of an issue with that particular obligation at the moment? in f3 generally if you don't turn up, you'e only wasted an entry fee. if you don't turn up in gp3, you're fined heavily. so that means that teams have to sell their seats for less than the market rate (but more than the fine), anything to avoid penalties.

the problem with gp3 for me personally is that it isn't impacting on f3 because it's a better product. it's taking away drivers mainly because it's unsustainably cheaper. that can't be good for the gp3 teams, and it obviously isn't good for the f3 teams either.

to me, that's where the fia need to step in. to do what, i don't know. but it's the kind of issue that to me needs the guiding hand of someone not commercially involved with either.

Him ans Pal Kiss should feature if they sign. Would be good for the series for sure. But being Greek and knowing what Portugal and Hungary go through I feel for them in their efforts to raise a budget

Gerhard Berger took over the FIA role that Barry Bland had and I don't think he has any particular axe to grind.

See also the post I'm about to make on the future of formula 3 thread.

Niederhauser will be Visoiu's teammate. Another driver from Formula Abarth, I think he is a great choice with great talent. We'll see of course...

Well, thát was the announcement we all had to be very exited about ...

Shame the GP3 grid is so much down in quality compared to last year. Still lots of seats to fill, but still..

carmen jorda? christ. the pervs amongst us will love gp3 then.

does anyone else wonder what would have happened in gp3 hadn't been created? which drivers wouldn't have had the breaks they otherwise had, like robert wickens and alexander rossi. and esteban gutierrez, for that matter.

I think Rossi would have just ended up in FR 3.5 earlier. Probably Wickens, too. Gutierrez would have done F3 Euroseries or maybe British F3. As far as their F1 future, I see what you're getting at, but they haven't made it yet, though.

Sainz Jr is driving instead of Vainio at Lotus ART. Ceccon is driving for Trident.
