It's still early days and if/when Vettel adapts to the car, I'm sure the steamroller will pick up where it left off.
One think this season has shown us however is that Vettel isn't quite Schumacher 2. The fact Schumacher (in his first career) utterly destroyed every team mate across different teams, car technologies etc... demonstrates just how special he was... and there may not be another like him for a generation. |

he has actually, Ricciardo and Vergne were driving similar machinery before making it to the top and Daniel came out on top of him, also note that Ricciardo always qualified quicker then Jean and made it into Q3 many times, so he had to use an extra set of tires for the race, it's good that RBR chose Ricciardo because he's a better overall racer then Jean Eric Vergne, he seems to be struggling to beat his rookie team mate this year. |

For me it's far clearer that the guy was only able to do what he did with inferior teammates/rivals and vastly superior equipment to the rest of the field in all but possibly 2or 3 of his title years!!!! Vettel similarly made the most of a major advantage as are Nico and Lewis this year. |

This doesn't really explain how he out performed the Torro Rosso before his Red Bull career began.

Daniel has always been more aggressive, but he races smartly, unlike Vergne who caused a few crashes because of pushing too hard in his Toro Rosso when he didn't need to, also the fact that he made it into Q3 meant he had to use an extra set of tires, which would cause him to be behind Vergne before the race even starts. |

Being an aggressive driver is not what's needed these days with the tyres. Far better to have a smoother driver who can bring the car home and look after the tyres whilst still being able to do competitive times and race without locking up and ruining the tyres. It's a shame that that's how it is but i'd much rather we see pit stop strategy play a part than someone being able to do the whole GP on one set of tyres.

Oh well it looks like McLaren and Mercedes think that Seb is a worthwhile investment:

you're confusing your terms and descriptions. and as you say, it's not as simple as who's the better racer. if you're a racer the place to be is endurance. if you're a driver, f1 is perfect. |

I love it when people offer "proof" that one driver is better than another.
It is always, without exception, nonsense. |
