So with the confirmed 28 entries we continue the gradual shrinking of the Spa 6h / 1000km grid (those that arrived at the circuit)
2003 - 35x 2004 - 41x 2005 - 47x 2006 - 40x 2007 - 50x 2008 - 44x 2009 - 51x 2010 - 50x 2011 - 54x 2012 - 42x 2013 - 35x 2014 - 28x projected 1999-2002 FIA Sportscar Champ races and 1989-1990 WSC were all actually under 3h events so count them if you wish, but in terms of 1000km events the last time with fewer cars was 1988 WSC race with 27 C1/C2 entries |

according to wikipedia there are 4 lmp reserves left
#50 larbre #30 signatech-alpine #42 chateram #29 pegasus racing In my opinion not only millenium racing and lotus will surely retire, but will be able TDS racing to put hands on the new ligier lmp2 in time for le mans? and don't forget strakka that is struggling with the new dome. In GT there is ram racing with budget issues and with bruno senna signed in the #97, I don't know how much realistic could be the third AMR #89 presence in gt-pro. |

I'd be a lot more comfortable if the Dome was at Spa or Imola but I don't think we're looking at a forfeit here. |

The big issue here isn’t so much Spa or Le Mans but rather the rest of the WEC season. Usually we don't see a drop off in entries until after Le Mans, which is the scary part. If teams are having trouble getting money to run the prep race for Le Mans, it makes me very concerned as to whether they’ll be able to get the money to do the five races after Le Mans, which given the travel involved, are likely each even more expensive for teams than Spa...

So lets have Le Mans as the last race of the season, everybody not turning up before without a good excuse will loose the LM entry.

That one is starting to sound a bit like a case of 'the cheque's in the post', or 'the dog ate my homework'....I really do wonder if we'll see them at all this year

The problem with that is that will tend to push cars out of the WEC into ELMS or out of ACO-style racing all together. And at this stage, neither the WEC nor the ACO can be too picky.

Say what you want about Kolles/Kodewa - if they are willing to try and field a P1 then they deserve the chance to try. Reserves are there for a reason. |

The ironic part of their entry (according to them) is theyre late because the Audi engine not coming through. Supposedly they had to go with AER late in the program and that pushed their preparations back. Is this a legitimate reason?

I think we'll see three more of these GTE adjustments before LM Straight after Spa @ Specific BoP testing at Germany After Test Day Possibly not after Spa if the German test does the same but the two others are guaranteed |

Porsche victory at silverstone was decided by wet tyres. Michelin supplies a special wet compound only to porsche 991 RSR! ferrari asked for the same package but michelin denied. Because of this ace in a hole, to give extra ballast to porsche won't change a lot in a wet race.
Ferrari tested also dunlop in wet condition and noticed that the car was several seconds faster than michelin! unfortunately on dry condition michelin remains the best so keep on with michelin was the only wise possible decision (afterall, even bmw in ALMS/TUSC switched for michelin after years with dunlop). In 2013 AMR used dunlop too during the winter development of the vantage GTE, but came back to michelin before the season start. About vantage in my opinion, the problem is the age of the vantage platform. Without the 95L fuel tank, AMR has to decrease power because of bad consumes and the car is basicly the same of 2013 without updates. Then if we consider that AMR runs with only 1 real pro car (#97) I'd expect a really hard season for them. |
