Speaking of Team Lark (or Team Goh) for that matter, they seem so silent on whether they'll return to sports car racing. I heard back then that they'll plan to return to Super GT, but it seems that owning a GT500 car is expensive to them.

Great news,
BMW Z4 GT3 will be replaced by BMW M6 (or M6 GT for the name) for the 2016 season. Is that any opinion here??? http://as-web.jp/news/info.php?c_id=2&no=59643#page2 |

The M6 should be great. Its a more powerful car and a bit larger. The longer wheelbase would be beneficial as well.

The Z4's wheelbase is 2496mm, the M6 is 2850mm! Quite a jump, 354mm.
I dont know what the race car dimensions will be, but itll definitely be longer. |

I think a good guess would be not to use the m5/m6 turbo engine but the one used in the Z4 GT3 since its lighter. The Alpina B6 GT3 used a supercharged 4.4L V8, but thats unlikely for bmw. The B6 made less power but a lot more torque. Over 700nm.

Would the V8 engine be able to be used in the M6 though as the V8 powered M3 is no longer in production. The M6 turbo engine could be used but yeah it probably isn't the lightest engine for weight distribution purposes. But if Nissan and Bentley can get a big turbo engine working in their GT3 cars then so would BMW one would assume.
Either way it's great to hear that BMW plans to continue in GT3 |

@rich07 Thats right, the V8 twin turbo engine is really match for the BMW M6 GT because the car weight is heavy. Last edited by AkioAsakura95; 6 Sep 2014 at 09:14. |

According to Masataka Bandoh,
Team MACH (#5) might introduce the Mother chassis GT86 next season. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYgvozGy-Bg |

LMP2 vs GT500 would be a mess, but at least more interesting than the dull DTMs. German wagons being underpowered & spec-tire equipped (seriously those Hankooks have no chance against the tire war brands) would doom them anyways in comparison to the Japanese counterparts.
Finally finished watching the 1000kms after missing it live last weekend, and I have to say that after LM it was the second most enjoyable race I've seen this year. Hopefully RLM will be able to continue this next year. And I rarely say this, but thanks to Nissan for some good promotion, the race being on youtube with the RLM audio for later use is a huge plus too |

Don't know, actually if german DTM will be bopped to be 1020kg, unrestricted engines and michelin equipped, to me could be a fair battle agains GT500 cars.

DRS could help those DTM wagons catch up against GT500 cars. But alas, I agree with Chiana in regards to how dull DTM is unless it's been shaken up a lot, loses its restrictions, and make it more exciting rather than shoving their regs to everybody.

In any case, I don't know what the point would be. You might just well run with the GT500 that are meant for such format (and are way less dull and spec and F1-copycat). What would you accomplish? Although DP vs LMP2 is a craptastic format, even that has some sort of vague reasoning behind for putting them together.
I still do wish SGT had never adopted the German taxi cab designs for new GT500 breed, but after seeing the 1000kms it was better than I thought it would be. For the most part the generic looks are still hideous in comparison to old era but the performances, engine/hybrid specs, and free tire choices are great Last edited by Deleted; 6 Sep 2014 at 17:07. |

Agreed to that, Chiana. If only someone control DTM instead of beating around the bush...

Yes...
Regarding this DSC article and lines "With both teams and drivers championships too close to call they are sure to be too good to miss. Especially with the recent addition of English language commentary." - I assume that is a reference to the (greatly appreciated) subtitles our friend provides rather than anything else? |

While the Nismo Channel will archive the Suzuka 1000 Km, there's a problem regarding the rest of the race with subtitles as J-Sports might shut it down because of copyright infringement!
Honestly, other than having English commentary, Super GT should have a channel dedicated to streaming and archiving full races, either with English or Japanese (plus subtitles) commentary. |

Super GT will continue to get faster. Nissan and Honda have used their joker update, now its Lexus' turn. When they do it could elevate their cars and the response will be a serious 2015. Just like the lmp1-h battle now will definitely get faster as they figure out the fuel flow limits. I cant wait to see how gt300 evolves with these new Mother Chassis cars. The Lotus in particular is really interesting.

I think the Mother Chassis will be used to upstart teams and current ones like Mooncraft and Team Mach, who are short of budget after using GT3 cars.
Also in GT500, sure that Lexus and Nissan are dominating the class right now, but I want Honda to step it up more next year. |

Autosport magazine reports mother chassis.
-Mooncraft will develop mother chassis Lotus Evora. (Mooncraft cars is a Japanese agency of Lotus cars.) -The price of the first lot of Mother chassis car (4 cars) is under 50 million yen (wheels excluded). |

Wasn't it supposed to be60 million yen last week? Could it be that there is some subsidizing by GTA to get the class started, maybe?
