johnh875 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hi Paul, another Imper here. What a fun car they are! I'm working on getting mine on the road at the moment after it being laid up for a few years. The most fun I've had with it was at a driver training complex with a small circuit and large skidpan, with sticky tyres it would almost hike both inside wheels!

Re safety, a mate rolled his on a rally, and even though it was a writeoff/reshell job still managed the 4hr drive back home. Another car out here was rear-ended a traffic lights by a large car doing 50-60mph and all 4 occupants were uninjured.

Hello John! I think I recall you from another forum...

You are right about safety. Imps are pretty good, considering their size and age. I hope not to ever have to find out, though.

The "incident" has not put me off at all. I plan to get the car fixed - somehow - and get back on track this year, funds permitting. I might even compete in it!

Cheers Paul and ditto, I wouldn't like to find out myself either. I gather the fire danger is related to the rubber connection between the tank and filler - if that ruptures then you can get fuel spillage.

The car my mate rolled is now deemed to shiny (& cost too much) to take back out into forests, however we have another in (lots of) pieces that we intend to rebuild for that.

Thank you, Rob. May I say the same to you too! Your car is stunning!

I am preparing things for the roof repairs, which I am hoping to have completed next month. I have the Webers to fettle too and, when the engine is "singing," I shall get out there and drive it a bit more!

Paul
