Corvette: ALMS vs TransAm
Doing my best to learn about the ALMS...
Already made my mind up about being a fan... I'm watching my video from Mid-Ohio now, and I LIKEY! First SportsCar race I've wathced, for all intents. I have a question, this one specifically regarding the Corvette. What would be the differences between the Vettes raced in the ALMS, as compared to those in the Trans-Am series? Could the teams cross-over and be competitive, or would they not meet spec? And why? |

No you can't cross over. Trans-Am cars are pure silhouette cars, with a number of standardised components. You can turn a Mustang chassis into a Corvette, and vice versa. ACO-GTS cars are more production based (e.g. a Jag with a Ford V8 wouldn't be possible in GTS), but with more technical individuality. They are more complex, and more expensive, than T/A cars.
