As we've discussed earlier, the other two BTCC Group A Mk1s were Alan Greenhalgh's yellow 'Ordibel' car, which raced in the BTCC in 1983/84, and turned up for a couple of ETC rounds in '85 (Spa and Zolder) http://www.racingsportscars.com/etcc...-09-29-068.jpg ...and Richard Lloyd's car which only appeared once- the final round in 1983, when it was already being advertised for sale (it was described as GTI Engineering's demo car). Was this a new car, or one of his earlier Group 1 Golfs updated as a Group A car? It was a plain white car, with 'GTI Engineering' signwriting, and race #100. As neither of these cars seem to have appeared in the BTCC with subsequent owners (Greenhalgh's car in '84 was the last Mk1 seen in the BTCC) could they also have gone abroad? |
