Now for Team Taisan, I wonder if they'll race in Motegi now that they've withdrew from the WEC Fuji race? |

Looks as not being in Thailand (which could be their first SGT non-show) is due to not having new car ready after selling the Nissan?
https://twitter.com/Racing_injapan/s...53280125575168 Not that this would explain the GTE case. Maybe they're just busy... |

http://youtu.be/4rkK5-P8pJw first video lap of the track. Its not super exciting, but I like the corners. Should be a fast track.

Although I find the layout just as uninspiring as any new Grade 1, what that one really reminded of me was that having onboard footage is something that is totally missing from the SGT TV broadcasts. How difficult would it really be to have even like five mounted cameras instead of absolutely nothing.

In my opinion, they can only use BMW M2 as the mother chassis because Porsche has 911 GT3 car so Porsche 911 can't be used on MC and they use BMW in JTCC beside the STP R32 GT-R Interestingly, Team Taisan used BMW M3 before as group A racing in Japan touring car championship alongside with Nissan R32 GT-R since 1991. However they use BMW M3 earlier than Nissan R32 GT-R since 1990 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1991_Ja...ionship_season Here this is the picture of Team Taisan BMW M3 here The name of this machine is Taisan Abahouse BMW M3 Last edited by AkioAsakura95; 29 Sep 2014 at 02:51. |

That would be great if Team Taisan would use the Mother Chassis and field a BMW car, but what if BMW rejected it in time for joining the GT500 class?

According to the entry list, team AAR (#99) will use Michelin tires.
Possibly, it might be not a bespoke tire for SGT but a controlled tire for GT Asia. It is because Michelin does not desire an increase in users. Autosport magazine says that Michelin airlifts SGT tires to Thailand. |

I agree your opinion if Team Taisan would use the MC as shown above and Team Taisan also field a BMW Customer Racing Team as well {same as Team Studie (#7). [But I hoped that Team Taisan will enter the BMW Customer Racing Team as well] } and BMW will also has a good reputation to that also. I hoped that BMW would participate in WEC as well beacuse Team Taisan is the oldest team to participate the WEC as well as SUPER GT. Lets refer to the post as shown below here as the reference as related to the above question that you post here. Quote:

Why can't Team Studie run a v8 M4 next year and have it BoP. I'm a BMW fan so it saddens me to see that i have to wait till 2017 to see them race.

Because the engine and some parts differs in Japan and German also in the present. Therefore, it is required to unify technical regulations completely.

While they agree to unify regulations, some aspects of it such as DTM's Drag Reduction System and Super GT's multiple tire and hybrid system will not cross-over from one series to another.

Big news.
The steering committee of SGT and DTM was held in Tokyo, today. Unifying the technical regulations of GT500 vehicles and DTM vehicles completely in 2017 was announced. DTM adopts 2 liter turbo engine. The name of this unification reglations was named the class 1. http://as-web.jp/news/info.php?c_id=2&no=60261 |

There is also a plan to hold the unification race of the format different from SGT and DTM.

Or terrible if they start adopting more DTM spec crap and DRS for those unified '17 regs.

hope that SGT will keep on using the semi-endurance two classes format and not the 75minutes sprint format of DTM

It's unification for technical regulations (for GT500), not sporting regulations. Thank god for that at least as the DTM format is the most boring on Earth

Good thing that both DTM and Super GT's efforts of unifying technical regulations are taking shape! Of course, apart from having the same components, Super GT should kept their hybrid system on to themselves as well as DRS system for DTM.
While I'm sad that both series will have Inline-4 turbocharged engines in 2017, I wish they would open up a bit on engine regulations in the next decade. |

That's right, That why Team Studie (#7) (as BMW for manufacturer) intention to participate the GT500 class as soon as possible due to the different sporting regulation or race format between SUPER GT and DTM. SUPER GT is using semi-endurance format while DTM is using 75minutes sprint format Last edited by AkioAsakura95; 30 Sep 2014 at 13:06. |

The as-web article says that a seperate series could be introduced with differing sporting regs from dtm and super gt. No mention of drs or spec tires. Dont know how that came up.

Why do they have to create another series with different regulations? Should they just let their cars cross-over from one series to another with few modifications?
Personally, it's a waste of money. |

Not different technical regulations. Different race rules. Super GT also said 'no interest' to a spec tire idea. Perhaps they mean no drs or tire compound rule.
