New chassis seemed to do the trick anyways. Much better.

The cool and windy conditions in qualifying really threw a wrench into proceedings. Some setups carried over from practice worked better than others and there were unusually big gaps between teammates. Rosberg's really suffered and it ruined his weekend. Both Mercs had similar pace in clean air in the race, a bad Saturday was what did Nico in.

I do think Lewis needs to think a bit harder about what he says over the radio. He knows anything interesting will be broadcast, and he sometimes sounds just a bit churlish and grumpy.

I think he's got enough to think about without having to self censor everything he says while he's working.
If it had been Kimi saying "Let me focus" there'd be a t-shirt for sale with that quote on it by now. |

His radio grumpiness was nothing unusual in F1, although he did seem to contradict himself with his comments! I can't blame the drivers when they are a bit sharp like that, I can imagine having these monotone drones dribbling in your ear every other minute can be irritating in the same way as someone talking over your favourite television show is, even if they are trying to help. 75% of the things they say seem to be fairly obvious. |

Please, don't criticise radio grumpiness. It's one of the few things that makes me smile when I'm watching a GP at the moment........ Although the 'Sebastien, make sure you look after your tires' stuff is beginning to get on my pecs.......

Kimi remarks are cool dont ya know!? Hamilton's comments must have been too 'gangsta' to his team for most... he is a rapper afterall

The first message we heard was his response to info saying "let me focus man...". The second was "you need to give me feedback......"

I'm with both sides here. On one hand let the bloody drivers get on with it please engineers, and please give them meaningful info not just kids instructions, and on the other, drivers don't whinge down the radio even if you're having a hard time, it just makes you look like a prima donna. |

Some drivers prefer constant info updates, and respond sounding like they are just sitting on the couch. Very calm. Others, not so.

Hulkenberg, for instance, sounds like he's looking up from reading a book at the pool. But Hamilton handled it well, apologised after the race while dousing water on those who saw it as a big deal at the same time.

He is spot in there. I'm not sure it needed Lewis to explain that, surely it is obvious to anyone who practices the art of communication.

Don't think I was criticizing just paraphrasing for the sake of the discussion.

Just takes a little understanding what the drivers are doing at that moment. So much going on with brake bias, kers release, watching your mirrors, maintaining a 'pace' etc. Its easy to see that some drivers want neccesary info but dont want to be bothered when you have so much going on. Talk about multi-tasking; at 300kmh!

Quite an interesting insight in Ham's regular BBC online piece.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/27069159 Although I'm not so sure about, "there's a secret language that only us drivers know"... |

He is in a difficult position because Hamilton is always prepared to bang wheels and if he had adopted the approach of a Vettel, Alonso or Hamilton himself toward these tactics neither of them would have finished! Hamilton would however have known not to do it again! Rosberg I felt backed out of the approaching contact three times during the Bahrain GP. |

Poor Rosberg the victim, being bullied by famously dirty racer Lewis Hamilton.

Of course we forget Rosberg on Hamilton, Bahrain 2012 (ish). Two very equal drivers IMO.

Mercedes bosses were full of praise of Lewis last weeks, did not hear very much about Rosberg, is Lewis maybe their prefered no 1 driver?
