@The IC

Oh, I see... Well if that's the case since the R&D Sport's are content with the current BRZ race car, I'm hoping that a smaller marque like Vemac and Mooncraft would use the mother chassis for making race cars again.

Oh, and I'll be happy if they would make it as a MR car.

@kurski

While the name "World Sportscar Championship" would confuse with WEC, I think "World Silhouette GT Championship would be appropriate for it. Better yet, I hoping that both GTA and ITR would attract more teams (plus new manufacturers) onto their championship. I'm looking at NASCAR and V8 Supercars, plus TUSC.

On the other hand, I'm feeling that it might collapse just like the previous DTM from the 90's.

6 manufacturers is no joke! Even if its just them, running 2 teams with 2 cars each, that's a 24 car grid. If just one other joins them, that could push it to more than 30 if they all partake in those numbers. Id like to see GM join with an ATS or CTS Coupe.

Yeah, agreed to that. However, will the American manufacturers market their luxury marques or pony cars?

As for the grid numbers, 24 cars would be a reasonable number, but I would like 28 cars on the field, assuming the DTM teams will resort to a 2 drivers per car setup.

So hypothetically speaking, what kind of format does this World Super GT class take? DTM cars are sprint racers. SGT cars are endurance racers. One would assume getting a DTM car to SGT and vice versa isn't just plug and chug. There are many modifications you would want to to adapt each to the format of the other.

How about both where one or two rounds would be endurance, and the rest will be sprint.

Also, while they'll have the same spec, they should at least develop on the aero department, with little on the engine too when dealing with both race formats.

Tsutomu Tojo (Engineer of team Tom's) says that the fuel flow restrictions by success ballast should be modified.
It is because 2014 chassis is greatly influenced by weight, and the fuel consumption improves by fuel restrictions.
That is, the team on which fuel restrictions were imposed becomes advantageous by contraries.

A world championship would only worth with a worldwide television deal. They need live coverage in Japan, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy and France to work.

But it would kill the DTM and Super GT. I think that it's better to do one or two non-championship Super Battles.

Yes, agreed to that. A single race with all DTM and Super GT teams present is a viable option.

However, if they want a bigger race, let alone make it as an endurance format, the GT300 class needs more entries to balance out 25+ GT500/DTM teams. A good way to boost entries in the second class is via invitation from Pirelli World Challenge, GT Asia, and Super Taikyu.

Agree. Motors TV was about to get a 2014 coverage but it didn't materialised.

If they agreed to a series, you can bet they would look to get a tv deal done and have a dedicated website. These are 6 of the largest auto makers in the world, they should know better!

Not necessarily. Teams like HWA, Abt and Schnitzer could be "promoted" to the new world series, while the rest stays in DTM. I could also imagine two different sets of regulations: The world series gets more technical freedom, while the national series have tighter sets of regulations, designed to keep costs at a reasonable level for the privateers/semi-works teams.
