Do the scooter regs require them to be of a type that was used in the paddock at Le Mans during the defined period?

I thought you didn't if it was period correct ?

from the 'structions'

Warning: The use of scooters (helmet is mandatory), quads and electric golf carts is strictly ruled. Passes for historic motorcycles are free. Passes for modern motorcycles can be purchased via the additional booking form

by all means spend it, but don't waste it!

If I could get them in the camper I could bring a fleet, although I'd spend all weekend repairing them probably!

Having said that, they'd be more reliable than this . . . . . 'A permanent VW Combi shuttle service will be in operation just for you.'

Presume jacket & tie isn't a requirement for all those on two wheels? Spotted at LMC in 2012:

Mr Peter was roaring round on the same machine at Dijon last weekend, but no helmet. Guess that's in the LMC rules......

Question for the assembled 10/10ths intelligencia (?!)....with the use of 3 safety cars at LMC, when the safety car is recalled, at what point can you start to overtake again?

Is it when the green flag is shown, or do you have to pass the next safety car line before you can (are they marked?)

Thx

The 10/10ths intelligencia are out......

However, in meantime I've found the regs for next w/end's 24hrs. They suggest that after 'lights out' each SC returns to its own 'post', and that green flags for cars behind start at that point. So suggests 3 individual restarts. Think rule of thumb will be- green means go.......

Look's very inviting - hope the weather is better than it is currently at Le Mans for the 24-hours.

It's been arranged for all our unsettled weather to finish at the end of June....

Mike and I had our first taste of the 356 yesterday (thanks to John and the Pace team)

despite limited running and a very busy red flag strewn Snetterton, it went well.

I couldn't keep up with the latest 911, but certainly held my own against the Caterhams on the straight bits. A very different car to most I've driven, but fun.

Counting the days now.

It's not as bad as some people suggest. Hardest bit is such a vague gearstick. It did remind me of driving a mates VW Camper many moons ago.

I am sure JR and the short grumpy Irishman will be delighted to here it being compared to a van!!!!

....the monkey motion on the gear linkage on the early ones is somewhat "crude"!!

My take- Really can't wait to have another go! The 356 rear weight bias is really interesting to feel and would be great to have enough time to really get to grips with it. Not sure whether that will happen with the crammed timetable at LMC, but fingers crossed..... Meanwhile, thanks to Gareth and Paul at Pace for yesterday, and to JR for making it all possible!
