I said exactly the same thing, but the Promoter/Track owner/manager of QLD raceway doesn't have anything available apparently.
Not Saloon Cars fault, go speak to QLD Raceway.
Negotiations have been ongoing for a few weeks, but no decision & SC competitors are pushing for a calendar before December, so this is what it is at the moment.

Aren't they following the V8's for the majority of the series next year? (Wakefield and Mallala they are - and the rest?)

No, all these rounds are CAMS new series rounds, none are with the V8's for next year.

No calendars available as yet - haven't been 'officially' announced - this is why I thought Saloons were following the V8's around (Carrera Cup for example gives a hint of the V8 calendar for next year).

If I find it will PM you.

XW GT should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
As discussed on another thread, the the Saloon Car category is a foundation member (shareholder?) of the 2006 CAMS series and it wouldn't make sense for them to run with another series.

Looking at their calendar, I have to say that it looks OK, but I will be interested to see what other categories will be on the same programs.

P.S. Keep up the good work Kerri

The other categories running in the series will be spread over the 13 rounds.
As I mentioned on another thread, at this point there may be 9 other categories running in the series.
Of these 9 some will still run at some v8 rounds, others like SC will only be running in the CAMS series.
I don't have their calendars but I'm sure they will be posted here as soon as they have picked the rounds they wish to run at.
Depends on which rounds AVESCO allow them to or have room for them to run at.

Why no Barbagallo ?

As the category is well supported from WA, I am surprised Barbagallo is not there.

Is the WA contingent likely to run the Series?

Is it a money issue that sees WA omitted? Were the WASCC approached to meet any costs?

Saw the category at Phillip Island recently & the racing was great, I am not a critic,as an expat West Aussie I just would like to know .

The CAMS series calendar for next year doesn't include a round at Barbagallo, and with the Saloon Cars committed to eight rounds of the series a non-series meeting in WA would probably not be feasible

There is nothing to stop them running a round in WA that is part of their series.

As discussed elsewhere, it is suggested that Saloon Cars are a shareholder category in the 2006 CAMS series and as such it would make no sense (in my opinion) at all for them to run at a non-CAMS series race meeting.

Hit the nail right on the head there XW.
BUT - 2007 may be a different story.
I think dipping the toes in the water for the first year is good, then see where the CAMS Series goes to from there. But the future intention to race in each state has definitely been discussed.
