Oliver Gavin (a F1 driver without a drive)

During late 1995 the new British F3 champion Oliver Gavin managed to drive in the Pacific team for the Australian GP, but the FIA refused him the superlicense, frustrating him his unique chance to race in one Grand Prix, and frustrating the team with more lack of sponsorship. That's the cost of the Profascionalism made by the FIA and his interests.
Now, how about Oliver Gavin? He drove in F3000 during 1997 and 1999 and also was the chauffeur of the safety car, but I don't hear more about him. Anybody knows where he is today?

Afraid not Mekola. Before he drove in the British F3 series, he raced in Formula First, a series set up by Brands Hatch. I think I'm right in saying he won every race that year and was Champion.

Try finding the website for Edenbridge Racing as Olly used to drive for them, they may be able to help with your enquiry.

Olly now drives in the Grand-Am Series, racing an Intersport Lola with Jon Field.
