But at maggots/bechet/chapel I'm sure that audi has an average speed 30-40km/h faster than porsche.

OMG

Looks like their LM strategy is all out for top speed, may well be they don't have a high downforce setup yet, maybe also they're optimizing fuel use with low drag.

WTF??? Is that even possible? Are those trap speeds from Hangar Straight? Porsche must run fundamentally different aero settings... but still that margin seems far too high to me...

Are we sure these aren't from drafting? Because if the Porsches can do this reliably, what sort of insane top speed will we see at La Sarthe?

Is it possible, like paul ricard, porsche is using the lowest drag setup
insane top speed at hangar straight, terribly slow in turns.
Audi like paul ricard is using the highest downforce setup (maybe some hp less of final power after the revised eot)
terribly slow at hangar straight, insane fast in turns.
Two different way to run in 1.44. A wet race could be a disaster for the low drag strategy of porsche

surely close to 350km/h like 908 in 2011, that basicly was onther car that ran all the ILMC season long without a true sprint bodywork

A few months back i predict that Porsche will achive 320 km/m (max) at Le Mans… i was so wrong

With this kinda of speed in Silverstone they may well achive + 340 Km/h at Le mans

Three different manufactures in the top three, I know we can't read anything into this really but it's exciting to see.

Man, the LeMans 24 this year is going to be epic; I'm thinking we could see a new qualifying record, with these top speeds we're seeing.

Not sure about a qualifying record, but the overall race distance record (and the 400-lap figure) is in real danger if it stays dry.

Didn't the ACO say that, had they had the slow zone/code 60 last year, the SC time would have been cut by about 2.5 hours?

i've always found these ideal lap times to be very interesting and relevant, they show more of the true pace and true differences between the cars than the official times. audi and porsche seem to be very close, almost exactly the same ideal times, yet the trap speed differences are totally surprising. we surely can't draw any conclusions yet, but so far, it looks the paul ricard test was a lot more relevant than we thought: audi and porsche have about the same pace, with porsche having huge top speeds and audi having the lowest top speeds, while toyota are in a middle ground of top speed and yet slightly slower over an entire lap. weird, it's kinda the opposite of what i expected.

audi reported that a specific LM bodywork will be used for the 24H of le mans, I expect a top speed between 330-340km/h for them and porsche 350km/h. About qualifying I don't think times will be under 3.24 or 3.23, average speeds in the porsche sector will be lower

Look at their sector times. A much better indicator. Jani has said they really don't know how the car handles in the rain, and that Audi has tremendous cornering speed.
My prediction is that if it rains, Audi will dominate.

Audi are surprisingly slow in the first sector, losing about 0.7 sec to the best Porsche. I would expect substantial improvements in this first sector during the upcoming practices.

Slowest top speed amongst the LMP1s also suggests that there is possibly more to come.

Audi must really have outstanding speed through the curves.
