Michael Schumacher World Champion Again

Michael Schumacher has just won the French GP, after taking the lead from Kimi Raikkonen, who ran wide after a spin from McNish. Raikkonen had been leading the GP for quite some time up till that point, and Coulthard also was looking to be a possible chance against Michael for at that point 2nd until a drive through penalty ensued he would lose a lot of time but still hold 3rd.

Pole man montoya managed a dissapointing 4th, followed by his team mate and jenson button.

Schumacher wins French GP and World Championship! (Results)

Its clear why he's done it five times. A masterful recovery from an error incurring a drive-through penalty. Congratulations to Michael Schumacher and Ferrari on a job very well done.

No controversy. MS finally got penalized, got a drive through, and still won. I feel very bad for Kimi, however. The race was his to lose. Whether it was a spot of oil or just a mistake, it was a tough loss for poor Kimi.

Doesn't really matter about the outcome, yet again we've seen a brilliant edge of the seat race, who says F1 is boring!

Well done Michael!

Kimi must be kicking himself today... even if there was oil, he should've been careful in the end laps.

Excellent race from Kimi and every performance like that is kind of making me eat my own words.... but well done to the young Finn, and his first GP win was only three laps away Oh well, he'll get them next time.....

Schu takes the race and title, but again it appears with some controversy... will it ever end?????

Once again it all goes wrong for JPM and Williams. He just has no luck, or something is wrong with that car.

Judging from the way the rear snapped out on JPM at Estoril corner, i'd say he had a big rear end problem! When are Williams going to get the stratergy/set up and tyre choice right?

The BMW engine is a problem, also. It may be powerful during qualifying, but they now dial it back for the race in order to get some semblance of reliability.

Congrats to MS. Again his consistency was the key. Many drivers should watch and learn from him.
In the last couple of races Kimi really impressed me. He races as well as the best in F1. He comes across like an unfriendly person though but that might just add to his mistique. He could/should have won. The Toyota was the key. SAto??? Sometimes I just dont know. Swerve looked good too but the whole BAR style wing failure did him in. Toyota was again unimpressive in the race though they had an increadible start. The Macs really seem to have come to from and the race for second should be hotter than ever.

Great drive by Michael Schumacher and yet another well deserved and record 5th World Championship. It was made sweeter by a brilliant drive - to win after a penalty - makes it even better.

Michael was the driver of the race - easily - followed by Kimi Raikonnen - Kimi was unlucky but his time will come soon, maybe even by the end of the season.

Pretty ordinary performance by the Williams BMW team yet again...they dont deserve 2nd place in the championship unless they get their act together as a team.

Congrats to Schumy:

Congrats to TGF and Ferrari for a job well done and the title secured in record breaking fashion.

Great drive from Kimi, apart from the mistake which caused him the race. Oil or no oil - like Freud says, he should have been careful in the closing laps when he was in that position.

I'm seriously beginning to doubt Juan Pablo's racecraft - he's great in qualifying, but can't seem to bring it together in the races. Ralf has done better when he has been in those positions.

I disagree. He did a great job holding off Michael and Kimi until the first pit stop. JPM showed incredible skill, but he didn't have the car to compete for the entire race.

The BMW engine has that impressive power at the expense of reliability, and they clearly dial in maximum performance for qualifying, then back it off in order to finish the races.

I don't understand that he "didn't have the car". The Willy's were on the hard Michelin and yet the McLaren's tyres didn't even hint at dropping away, despite being on the softer compound.

It can't be just JPM; the same happened to Ralf. Absolute mystery why the Williamses were so aweful today.

Congratulations M. Schumacher! Thoroughly dominating form all year.

Good performances from the McLaren boys.

Very impressive drive from Webber too! He had both Toyotas covered, as well as De La Rosa, Massa and Sato.
