Has there been a better drive at Cleveland than Zanardi going from last to first to win in 1997?
Totally spectacular! I'll give a free smiley to the first person who can tell me why he went to the back of the pack that day ........ |

Fortunately Ronnie sounds pretty confident now - at least half the sponsorship required should be in place now. So I'm crossing my fingers for it to happen. |

Zanardi was one of the several cars that went into pitlane while it was closed. They were all relegated to the back of the pack. But Zanardi was further penalized for speeding in pitlane. |

thomasl: Sounds great, but can you elaborate on how you know that? I've been very impressed with Bremer and I'm rooting for him.
Great news on Maia as well. CC's website had an article on him a week or so ago. It sounded like he was putting his full effort into getting an Atlantics drive for next year. Given his Barber Dodge record, I expected him to do quiet well in IPS last year. For some reason he didn't. Does anyone have any insights? |

QUOTE] Can't say much more than that. It's been in the news here in DK that he has one sponsor willing to pay half of what's needed. But contrary to last week Ronnie expressed optimism about finding a sponsor for the other half. Also I think that the Danish Motorsports Federation are doing what they can to help Ronnie. |

Fair enough thomasl, that sounds pretty reasonable. Do you know if it's a car sponsor or a personal sponsor? Often times drivers get personal money, yet nothing goes on the cars. I don't understand that. What do these sponsors get for their money? I suppose the Danish Motorsports Federation getting behind Bremer is not dissimilar to how RAC supported Manning in 2003.
P1: PT, CDM, Bourdais in the top 3. They're about 2 seconds off last year's pole time, but about even with last year's P1. It always stikes me as odd that despite using the same equipment that the times start so slow and get so much faster as the sessions progress. Do you think CDM/PKV can continue their top form? |

No word about who or how. Last year Karsten Ree (Den Blå Avis) stepped up to help Ronnie, but that must have been a personal sponsorship cause nothing showed on the car.
I don't think the Federation is actually putting money in to it, it's more a question of helping guys like Ronnie and Kiesa finding the sponsors. |

Damn those guys are close. The closest front row (well for the moment) since Long Beach 2002. Nice work.
I see RHR's car has changed colours too, Red and Yellow like Glocks with a company called "cyromax" or something like that on the side pods. Good to see hopefully it can bring him some more speed. Anyone one now what happened to briggs and stratton |

RHR is driving Glock's backup car this weekend, because the colours better match the new sponsor (which is a sports drink). I have no idea what the story is behind Briggs/Stratton though.

Good to see that the PKV cars do have genuine pace, and that the Portland win wasn't completely about fuel strategy.
Meanwhile, down the other end of the pack, Mr Marshall continues to struggle . I think they should stick with him for the season now, but if Will Power's funds dry up, any chance of seeing him in a Team Aus car next season? |

Remember that PKV grabbed pole at Milwaukee as well. I have a feeling that the combination of McGee, da Matta, Vasser, and Kalkhoven is starting to really gel. This is going to make things very interesting!
