Exactly Rob - and some of those in liveries didn't have the definitive scheme either.

But of the ones revealed i'd say Brazil.
South Africa, USA, China and Australia have very nice liveries too. |

I think the team USA looks really good at the moment. Our GB car appears a bit plain, but of course they will all look different when they get some sponsorship on them.

At the moment the Team USA car is in front looks wise but wait until the Brands before I finally make up my mind.

Well I would say they are all pretty ugly! it's what happens when an "artists impression" gets the nod over pure engineering... way too much bling in the bodywork if you ask me.... more time in the windtunnel needed!!
they have lost all credability.... |

I think the car looks stunning.
It's been designed to allow overtaking - more time in the windtunnel may make it more efficient but that would make the racing worse. |

KB....
each to there own, but for my money if you wanted to make something as an equal to F1 why would you cheapen yourself to running fantasy land aero body work? I am not talking about making the aero surfaces more efficent, I am talking about the stupid air intake and rear wing design... there is nothing in those areas that would make a gain, so yes it is there to make new to racing people think it is special, and people in the game laugh... if they want to attract the best drivers, they have to be credable race cars.... simple. |

The liveries prove even the ugliest of cars can look half decent with some imaginative painting.
The A1GP car originated from a sketch of what he wanted the end product to look like and the engineering was worked around that, partly why the back end looks like it was designed with crayon. Still, if the racing is good all will be forgiven quickly. |

silkcutjag,
that is exactly what it looks like to me, I can't stand anything that is blatently "bling" and this series smells of ugly gold watches, big gold chains, and body kits on your merc S class.... and who on earth are coopers tyres??? I like the concept, but do it in a real race car, not some childs fantasy car... he may have money this guy, but taste is priceless.... |

Parent company, actually. It's now called Cooper-Avon Tires (sic) since Cooper is an American company.

Surely your statment is the opposite to what you intended, If it looked nice then It would be an artists job, but to me it looks like they thought 'sod what it looks like, lets make it race well' |

How do you know they are not real race cars? It's sure to put on a better show than F1 Why have you got it in your head that a car needs to look good to be good to watch? Come on, you must have heard of Cooper tyres!!! |

Sorry, didn't realise you were an aero expert!! It's not here to compete with F1, if it was they would have run it at the same time, instead they are running it (by and large) in the off season when Motorsport is at it's thinest As for the drivers, I think they have quiet a good line up, and a very good new feeder for F1. A1GP will succeed, As more teams pull out of F1 A1GP has managed to find 25 new teams, whos laughing now!! Give it chance, I reacon even Sato will be in it next year! Lee |

I did some proposals for this via another race car builder who were bidding with Lola. Unfortunately for me, Lola won. I later found out I was on the same vehicle design course as there designer (stylist). The fins, shark air intakes, swept back rear wings etc were very much part of the brief from A1GP. Both of us are very mechically minded with masses of knowledge in motorsport and we have both been involved with the look of 'certain' other racecars. The styling side plays a bigger part in cetain racecars (thinking GT and tin-tops) more than you'd think. The Lola designer also has a very successul past in motorbike design as well. I'm still bitter they didn't use my design though |
