NSW lately has had more unders than overs, WA is getting a strong unders field as well. The other states still have a bit more of a swing towards overs.

Plus this is Mount Panorama and a lot of the unders guys probably dont want to get blown away by the big fast cars (unlike me)

I will be attending this event on the Saturday and Sunday and would love to say '' gidday '' to the forum members who are with a team or just to know who to look out for on the track.
If possible and maybe for other forum members also, could those members involved either tell us who you are, what team you are with and what role you play.

You must not have been to a GT round. Seriously, the GT paddock oozes money, not just the competitors, but many of their supporters are seriously cashed up. Their car park is full of machines to drool over. As another poster said, they also get keen support from the prestige marque clubs.

Qld has been over represented by O2 cars for a while, but there are several U2 cars presently under constuction and if it keeps up we may see something approaching 50:50 distribution.

Also, as Shane said, every big car owner is dead keen on racing at Bathurst, but a few of the smaller class guys seem quite reluctant.

damn shame The radio lemans boys arnt coming out. Hopefully next year they will.

Watching the Dubai race this eveing has pumped me up for this event! cant wait for the 24th of feb!

Any news on the mosler with salmon and his partner drivers?

Good grief I'm keen for this one. Was looking through my pics of the last few 12 hour races this afternoon, can't wait to see what 2012 brings.

The winners:










A couple of my favourite moments: The first year, works Subarus were pushed beyond ten-tenths by the likes of Crompton and Atkinson.


Last year: Audi turns up with state-of-the-art cars and puts the defending Bathurst 1000 winner and lap record holder in for the first stint. As someone whose number one motorsport highlight were the Bathurst 24 hours, seeing world-class drivers back in GTs gave me mega goosebumps.


This year's race will be epic.

Nice post, thanks for the pictures. I was at the original Bathurst 24 Hour, so many good memories of the weekend like the Brock Bus that took us up and down the mountain.

I was hoping to get to this one but it's looking less and less likely, but I'll be in the IRC chatroom for those watching the race and are online.
