Copperbottom has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
BARC Goodwood Sprint Cancelled!?

I've just read that this years' B.A.R.C Goodwood event has been cancelled due to low entries into the lydden event!

kjw should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The last sprint I did at Goodwood cost £90.00 and I got 6 laps including practice. That is poor value for money when a race can cost around £220.00 and you can get 15 min qualifying and two 15 min races (maybe 40 laps).

That may be true Ken but when can you race at Goodwood? (we'd get even more track time per £ if we did open pitlane trackdays but we don't do we) BARC have run a sprint there anually for the last 15 years so it is a real shame that there's not going to be one this year! I was going to enter this years' event either in my race car or my brothers' Evo6.

I agree it is a great circuit and a nice place to be. It is a shame racing is so restricted there.

That is a real shame, surely they should have waited to see if the lure of GW drew more entries than Lydden (which I would have expected). It's a great circuit and, whilst sprinting never offers great track time for the money, you really know when you've done a lap of Goodwood!

that's a shame, having just bought a Peugeot 205 GTi rally car I was going to enter this sprint as it's first speed event. The next All-Circuit is Brands Hatch on 12th Spet but I can't attend as my brother's getting married that day.

I'd really like to have a go round Goodwood, beenthere for a few Breakfast Clubs - anybody advise me on other options to drive the whole track? Track Days? Next Sprint? Single Venue Rally?

cheers

Is this link of any use to you?

There are other sprints also arranged by various clubs - look in the diary section of the Goodwood website.

The numbers in the BARC sprint championship have dropped dramatically this year. Also without the Caterham Academy we would have been lucky to get 40 entries (based on figures from last year and this year).

Goodwood - how do you get to drive at Goodwood

We run trackdays at Goodwood - they are very social, great fun and with not so many cars attending as you guys refer to here, you get FAR more laps. It would not be unusual to use a tank of fuel.
Our next day is Saturday 31st October.
If you are interested, let me know at enquiries@mithril.co.uk and I will give you the sp
