BRSCC Silverstone 7/8 Oct.

What great weekend!!! Weather good, packed grids, good and close racing. The Caterhams lived up to their usual style, the Fords well behaved, even the FF1600's were good( saving themselves for the WHT). A pity there was only a few of us on the bank, but with Mallory,Rockingham and Donington on the same weekend....... too many meetings with not enough bods to go around.

Well, not many bods at all at Rockingham either. Anyone got an idea of turnout levels at Mallory and Donington?

Donington was very short also.

Caterhams exceeded themselves I think. Was it 9(?) that came together at Brooklands. Pretty hectic I can tell you.

Excellent grids and racing and I think we managed with numbers (just).

Post 1 had an Observer for a while, then I promoted Ken Shelley as I was demoted to Safety Car Obs. I hope the others survived with Ken in charge!!

Thanks to everyone at Silverstone and Mallory this weekend.

Doing the flag/observer allocations on Friday night was an interesting experience, but we managed with 1 a post. I must say the reports were very good considering everyone was flagging and observing. I do not want any reports on my lines or times round the circuit on Saturday!! I am sorry I was not there on Sunday, but even I cannot be at two circuits at once!!

Mallory had at least an Observer, Flag and 2 Incident per post. The only major off was at the normal spot of post 6. Although cars did hit the barriers at posts 7, 9 and 10. How we got away with none at post 1 was incredible.

I am sorry the Safety Car was not used at Mallory. Nicky and Andy were raring to go and at one stage it got as far as half a lap away from being released, then the marshals from 2 posts got together and pushed the car out of the way and they were not needed.
