2009 National FF1600 Provisional Calendar?

Does anybody know when a provisional calendar for National FF1600 is likely to be published?

Provisional calendar from clubformulaford.co.uk

1 & 2 Apr-04 Apr-05 X Anglesey BRSCC
3 May-02 May-03 Snetterton BRSCC
4 & 5 May-16 May-17 X Pembrey BRSCC
6 & 7 Jun-27 Jun-28 X Silverstone - National BRSCC
8 Jul-11 Oulton Park BRSCC
9 Jul-18 Jul-19 ** ? Knockhill BRSCC
10 & 11 Aug-08 Aug-09 Castle Combe CSRC
12 & 13 Sep-12 Sep-13 X Mondello Park LMC
14 Sep-27 X Mallory Park BRSCC

Observations:
No Brands Hatch or Donington (although Midlands and South visits these)
Lots of long haul races, especially if you are based in the South East
The Silverstone meeting (which also includes M&S and NW round) clashes with the first of the proposed Thruxton events

While I do like the idea of making the championship more national, I am not convinced that 2009 was the right year to do it. The championship may well pick up strong local entries at Knockhill and Mondello Park (as well as some less far flung places), but it looks as if the championship will suffer - as it did in 2008 - from a lack of depth. Lots of good drivers took part, but very few did all of the rounds.

Does anyone know whether the National races will be run as seperate entities or whether they will be merged with championships running on the same day, such as North West, Midlands South, Combe or Scottish?

Its good to see Snett back on a ff1600 calendar.

mondello, knockhill, combe. 3 mega tracks that many 'clubbies' wont have gone to before, they'll be good meetings.

Lets hope the European Classic rounds dont do too much clashing, when all approved.

Unlikely to see many mainland guests as NW round at Oulton the same day and its unlikely that their championsuip will have been decided before then, shame!

Also find it quite odd that a NW round (double header) is in Silverstone, nothing against Silverstone but its an hour from London !, surely the Donnington date earlier in june would have been a better bet considering the extra cost of all that travel etc in the current climate.

Can only think its such a crap 2 day event that BRSCC need the extra 40 odd £250 entry fees!! LOL

We went to Mondello in 05 for the Vee Festival, I think it was our third ever race meeting.

From the moment we left the boat we had a great time and I'll never forget the packed grandstand cheering every car home in the final. A super atmosphere and well worth the effort.

I think once you've got to Anglesey it's only another 30 miles or so.....

With the Knockhill round being on the same weekend as the Classic Speedfair weekend, is there another FF1600 race, and if so, is it as per SFFC regs (pre92 cars only???) or is it a stand alone FF1600 race open to all?? Thanks.

Southport - Anglesey = 120 miles

Souithport - Silverstone = 160 miles

Traveling time = about the same.

No big deal really.

Bet the Irish guys are happier to come to the UK next year as the Euro is worth the same as a £ now.

Thats like do 2 race meetings, get one free. Welcome to the Uk, where the sales last all year.

The NW rounds should be at Oulton with a couple at Anglesey.

No doubt the club will disappoint us next week at the show.

Lets hope there is no daft Beetle half day racing for us to subsidize.

Five double headers at Anglesey looks like the red nose gang have struck again from the big top in Kent.

Where are you getting that from blue nose? The calendar on the website still shows two double headers at Anglesey.

That only shows that there are five BRSCC meetings at Anglesey, not five FF1600 NW double headers...

But Ian's point is that those are the dates for BRSCC-NW meetings, and there's not going to be a NW-FFord round at each of them.

Maybe you'll be better looking at the provisional FFord calendar, which I know has been posted before? OK, some dates will clearly have changed, but I reckon the general feel of the calendar is there...

Club Formula Ford Championship (NW)
7 Events & 10 Rounds
Races 2009 Dates DH Venue Club
1 & 2 Apr-04 Apr-05 X Anglesey BRSCC
3 May-25 Oulton Park BRSCC
4 & 5 Jun-27 Jun-28 X Silverstone - National BRSCC
6 Jul-11 Oulton Park BRSCC
7 & 8 Aug-29 X Anglesey BRSCC
9 Sep-12 Oulton Park BRSCC
10 Oct-03 Oulton Park BRSCC

Not that this is the thread to discuss the NW series....
