johnh875 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Classic car shows summer 09

As I am considering a trip over to the UK/Europe in Jul/Aug period this year, I was wondering what the best classic car shows around the place are, in case I might accidentally find myself in the right place at the right time? As a starting point I have the Goodwood Festival of Speed on Jul 4-5, and the racing dates noted in the historic racing today forum.

Thanks for any help!

"Classic Week racks up more support

We are delighted to announce that Kemble based Rapid Racking, the UK’s leading specialist supplier of storage solutions will be supporting our Classic Carnival Race Meeting on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June.

To be known as the Rapid Racking Classic Carnival the event will attract classic and historic race cars from throughout the UK and will be the climax of our first ever Classic Week. Interest in the Classic Week is growing enormously. It will open with the Classic, Retro and Sportscar Action Day on Saturday 6th June, where we will celebrate 40 years of the Capri. Backed by Heritage Insurance the Action Day gives a chance for enthusiasts to take to the track in suitable cars from just £35.00. With Ford themselves committed to bringing Capri’s from their own Heritage collection, Vince Woodman displaying the World Famous Cologne Capri, plus visitors from throughout Europe displaying their cars, the paddock will provide a fine spectacle.

On Sunday 7th June we will be repeating our Classic Drive In. One of 2008’s successes this will now also incorporate an Autojumble. Other activities are planned throughout the week including various Club Drive In’s and a Classic Car Track Day, Classic Race Testing before the Rapid Racking Classic Carnival brings the curtain down on the week."

I assume you have some of these on your radar too, Prescot is owned by the Bugatti OC ; normaly the members car park is as good as those competing.
Most VSCC events will have cars that one never sees in other circumstances
