I see that there's quite a few Migs on there too - some look a bit tired though, plus a tidy looking historic

Phil, Ken and i met at Dover docks on friday morn at 6.00 am, Gemma travelled by the train early friday eve.
And returned home on monday. I think if you spoke to any of us we would all say it was well worth the effort and time spent. Half hour practise on saturday, and 2 ,half hour races on sunday all for a standard uk entry fee.
The BCT even arranged for a catering Man to be avaiable to us, and for 15 euros we had breakfast, lunch, and supper with wine or beer etc included.
The racing, was clean close and a lot of fun, the rolling starts were once again first class well bunched up and we was all able to see the start lights.
One amazing thing we all commented on was even with the high track tempratures tyre wear was minimal.
So we now looking forward to the next round in september. Any mini driver want any info please pm me.

Sounds great Rob and well done Ken on the wins.

Very keen to come out and join you lot, quick question Rob, I've looked up the calendar on the BCT website, is the OldTimer festival in September on the 'old' Nurburgring or the GP circuit?

The Nurburgring races are run on the GP circuit. All car must comply to FIA standards. We have all fitted stop valves on fuel tank vents, tow straps, fire extinguishers in date and welded in gussets where roll cage bars cross. Sometimes the scrutineers don't check but on occasion they do, so it is best to have these things in place if you decide to go.

Just following up from Ken on the BCT spec, you will need a laminated front screen, nomex socks and vest. as well.
They are very keen on door bar gusets both side of the car Gordon only had the drivers side done then we was asked too do passenger side as well.
If you got any querries give us a call.

Catalysts complete with inspection bungs are also required for BCT along with in date FIA seats and belts.

On the catalyst front those Mini's that have them seem to do with bike catalysts stuck up the rear pipe.

Checking with compliance with many of the regulations seem to have been lax but before Zolder a list was circulated and I'll not be surprised if more things are not checked in the future.

I see that BCT have an additional meeting at Zandvoort on September 26th.

Anyone going to do it?
I've always fancied a go at Zanvoort, looks like a cracking track

Hi all my Mini chums i have just bought a nice late mini shell and are just starting to prep it for the full race treatment, weld in multi point cage, subframes etc, will be being built to the same spec as Ken welch's car i made a while ago, So if you want a new shell built to your spec and fitment for seat frame etc be quick (ps i can even leave the boot floor in lol ) !!!!!!!!!!!
