what are the main differences between the 2009-2012 gt2-gte corvettes? the 2012 version is said to be wider, engine 6.0 liter then 5.5 liter from 2010; but what else? thanks

Seems like GMG's Audi might be a full GT3, but it is definitely not an 'Ultra'... only four of those have been delivered so far (source) and two of those went to Japan and the other two to Mamerow and UHC Racing for ADAC GT-Masters.

well the 2009 c6r gt2 had a different engine than the actual one used since 2010, but to speak in short, each year the car had an improved and more aero efficent bodywork. The 2012 model seems to be a bit wider.

Good god there are a lot of these PC cars this year, I'm sure the GT drivers are going to have a tough time at places like Lime Rock. Hopefully this means more future P2 entries, although looking at this year's P2 and P1 cars with BHFs and BHHs, I actually won't mind LMPC that much.

If Merchant Services have both cars out for Sebring, I think that makes 9 LMPCs on the entry list there?

The rear wing is taller as well this year from the looks of it...the GTE car is getting closer and closer to the original C6.R it seems! You can really see it in the comparison shot they have up on BBV, especially.

The press release notes that this company has to do with the Ducotes who if I am remembering correctly had previously driven with Intersport's LMPC program...in some form could this team involve some Intersport personnel or possibly even be related to BAR1?

Here's your answer: Merchant Services already sponsored Intersport last year, but Intersport disbanded. They're taking over the cars and running it themselves, with some Intersport crew. Turns out Ducote is also the CEO and President of Merchant Services.

This must have been the team where Intersports lead engineer left to start his own team, and took much of Intersport's team with them.

It does leave some questions about BAR1. Where does the money come from now for BAR1? I suspect that BAR1 might be a part of the new Ducote team, but I'll guess we'll see.

Also, according to Dagys, Marcelli is an IMSA "gold" driver, but I guess he is "silver" by the ACO. I guess some drivers have different rankings in the different series.

The cars are 50mm wider (now 204.6cm vs 199.6cm it seems), feature dive planes at the front and a taller rear wing at the rear. Seems IMSA/ACO granted them to be allowed to run the same aerodynamics as the BMWs.

Corvette drivers have said it handles more like the GT1 car.

I just wanted to invite everyone to play the Fantasy Racing Challenge 2012 edition. It will cover all Le Mans affiliated sports car series and the first round starts at Sebring. A link to the Sebring FRC entry thread can be found HERE, and the official FRC rules can be found HERE. I hope we have lots of entries this year, and good luck to all!

So it seems BAR1 is linked to the Merchant Services entry after all, speed.com is reporting Brian Alders' involvement as team manager.

Hey, just wire all your money to Chase, Morgan, Stearns & Lloyd bank. Nothing bad could possibly happen! Even if Tucker steals all your money, he'll be more than happy to charge you 800% interest to get you back on your feet. Now that's for the fans! Maybe that's what the ALMS means by green racing? ALMS team owners getting green through any means possible?
