you can link to facebook, no problem.

and I think the Red Bull ring has very little corners you can cut to be 2.7 seconds faster.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7PhmXaRkGGs

now tell me: exactly wich corner at that track can be cut?

What it caused to me was not to take any of the times seriously at all. I will wait for the first race meeting before hailing Wonder-Max.

I did't see Max in that video, so I don't know what your problem is............

I see a lot of other drivers doing it who don't seem to be faster than Max and what I said was that the new ENGINES where the cause for the fater times.

and you still don't have any proof that the drivers did'nt do that last year when the old lap record was set.

Yes, but still i don't see any evidence this was the first year this corner driven this way, that Max Verstappen did this as well on his fast lap or even that it is faster than the normal line.

and even if all that where true: it stil, does'nt cause a 2.7 seconds faster lap.(much less than that)

It's not unknown for teams to run underweight, use larger air restricters or more potent fuels during testing, especially if the team &/or driver is wanting to attract additional funding.

I'd pay very little attention to the times from test days, as there is a high likelihood that some of the cars are not Running in a legal configuration, especially if the team &/or driver have no previous record of been front runners.

25 drivers where faster than the previous lap record.

wich is like I said before because they are using NEW purpose built engines according to the NEW regulations.

so maybe you should know what you are talking about before you make such comments?

I think you are hugely unfair in your treatment of Max Verstappen, this boy comes straight out of karting and has done a great job thusfar. Give him more respect!
He probably will make mistakes but that is normal with so little experience.

Well, Volswagen seem to have this championship in the bag. Which is VERY BAD news for one Lucas Auer. And VERY GOOD news for Verstappen.

It's 2010 all over again. We had Signature then, we have Carlin and/or VAR now.

in his defence, i don't think it's disrespecting him it's more that it's *testing*. producing the times on command in a qualifying and race situation is very different to delivering in testing when people are doing different things with the car, fuel load and tyres. especially for a guy with no car racing experience.

of course, it'd be epic if he could produce the kind of performances his testing times suggest he's capable of. but realistically it's just unfair to expect that of him and his team.

and yes. "things" happen in testing.

But you also have to remember that Max also was faster in several FWS races than experienced F3 drivers like Jones and Marciello this winter.

ah yes, the series that wasn't a series just an extended test session...

no, fair play. it's good that he could keep up with them and be quicker, albeit in a totally abnormal situation. but... context, people. give the kid a chance.

He is young, fast, smart and has all big teams looking at him. In due time we will know if he really has was it takes, but so far i am impressed at what I have seen.
Not only in testing but also in last years karting season he was mightily impressive.

De Vries and a loooooooong list before him were also mighty impressive in karts. But, he's super young now and he needs time. I think Dutch people are preparing him to fall down from extremely high when he doesn't meet the super strong expectations.

No one, Dutch or any other nationality has won as much in karting in one year as Max did last year.

Max Verstappen the only driver in the top 8 that doesn't race for Prema or Carlin.

Some time ago it was Signature's policy to race only with potential championship winning drivers, lack of such drivers made them quit F3, now it seems Tatiana Calderon doesn't want to race with them
