Peter Brock, 3 years on

Today 8th September 2009, marks the 3rd anniversary of the passing of Australian Motorsport Legend - Peter Brock.

It doesnt seem like 3 years ago since we watched the teev news with disbelief... or saw one of the various tributes to the bloke at Bathurst or anywhere the old '05' made an impact.

Funny how times passes, and we move on with our lives, always with the memories that keep people alive in our conscious thought.

doug05 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It is hard to believe it is 3 years on. Probably all the more so with Peter still always around whether it is in magazines etc, I still half expect to see him signing away at race meetings around the place.

I am extremely gratefull for the many times i got something signed or had a quick chat to him at various stages. You will always be remembered Brocky! Rest in Peace

Yes time stands still for no-one. It is still hard to believe that the great man is no longer with us and still after three years the eyes still get a little misty.
The Legend is gone but will never be forgotten.

yeah like everyone it dosn't feel like 3 years, also at times you forget he is no longer with us you see one of his cars or talk about him and it's really not until you talk about his passin that it dawns on you.

i feel very privilaged to have met him a couple of times and watch him race. ultimate gentleman, great driver sadly missed. Peter Brock 05 King Of The Mountain forever.

I still remember the day when the motoring world got a little more emptier. I cried until my tear ducts had no more water in them. He not only made me follow motorsport the way he did, but he showed me that there is still goodness in the fellow man. His personality and spirit reminded me of American actor, the late DeForest Kelley.

To quote DeForest about missing our lost loved ones: "No one is really dead as long as we remember them."

For mine, even though I know, intellectualy, that he has passed away, I still can get over that he's dead. Not in an emotional way, but it feels feel more like he deliberately hasn't made himself present to us, rather than being dead, do you get what I'm trying to say?

Well he made his mark on people with his personality and passion for motorsport, which is rare it seems these days amongst drivers. He compiled an excellent record in the history books and enjoyed himself and was an interesting person. So with what happened, he is still going to be ever present out there because he left a lot of memories behind, just like Senna did.

If he was still here, I'd reckon he'd probably be racing in Touring Car Masters.

I remember just being absolutely stunned when I opened the Yahoo homepage 5 years ago and saw the news.
