V8s To Fly In Shanghai (Official Thread)

Well its only a week and a bit away, and all that expensive hardware departs our shores in the silver birds tomorrow... so its time to start the question on everyone's minds.... who's gonna win?

For me...

1. M.Ambrose
021. P.Radisich
2. M.Skaife

F J Nedos should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Newsflash.... David Thexton comes out of V8 supercar retirement and smashes them all into oblivion with a resounding victory.

What's I want to know is how many corners will it be before Ambrose punts Skaife off into the dust?

Can he make it three from three?

New track that no teams have been to before, I'll go for a punt and say Bright and FPR

I predict neither a Holden nor a Ford will win.

In other words, Rick Kelly.

SBR will be right at or near the front, situation normal. Skaife will challenge for pole but maybe not have utimate race pace.

Was reading the Gibson Freight article in MN on the logistics of getting the event happening. Very interesting. Will reserve judgement on the circuit/event until we all see it. Sounds far more prestigious than a race at Winton but we will see.

So we've seen new liveries for 888, one for HSV and the announcement that "Bradlee" and "San Chow Bowe" will replace Jones and Bowe, any other changes for the China round visually?

I still think a team should translate their entire livery - we'd still recognise them here in Australia, because we know the cars already, so it'd be cool...Of course a lot of logos are international now...but still I'd love to see a car covvered in Chinese characters, it might make the locals more accepting of a bunch of Aussie cars in an Aussie series racing on their turf...

I think Richo's chinese characters are a nice touch....

but why did triple 8 change their livery? are the chinese scared of yellow? does it bring bad luck in chinese mythology or something?

Its more a question of relevance... how many Betta stores are there in China... as against how many LG factories are there in China....

Bugger, GTR just beat me to it. And here's me thinking he was too busy thinking up conspiracy theories to pit radio coverage!

so while I'm editing this message about why 888 aren't "going one betta" I'll just say "go bahodietek!"

Whoops, I didnt notice the lack of betta on the side of the cars. My attention was focussed on the bloody stupid number eights getting smaller and smaller. it looks crap, looks like they ran out of stickers and ran down to the local hardware store and got what was remaining on the shelf.

I wonder how impressed betta are about all of this.

TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Plus you will find that the numbers 88 & 888 are very a lucky numbers in China.

Also, if you look at 888's corporate logo, you will see that it's three 8's getting progressively smaller, so they are just matching their corporate image.

Does anyone know if Morris has sent his spare car that he mentioned at EC, or did they fix the one he crashed?
