Accomodation at Brands Hatch

ok..

so I'm leaving it a little late as I'm racing at Brands Hatch this weekend, and I'm thinking I'd prefer a B&B to camping.

Can anyone recommend any B&B's or Guesthouses in the area, as £180 to stay at the Thistle is more than my race entry !

thanks

Dave.

Ibis in Thurrock? OK it's thru the tunnel/over the bridge, but they may have rooms.

Also there are a few place in South Essex within 30 minutes of Brands

dang...

the travel in is fully booked,..

and surprisingly so is the Holiday Inn Express.
(Smoking rooms only)

AA routeplanner says it'll take me an hour to get to Brands, which means in reality it'll take 2.

so I'm thinking I might drive down Sunday Morning.

Dave where do you live in London for it to take that long?

AA route planner says it'll take me 28 minutes to Brands but I've done it in 17

The AA route planner says it will take me 15 minutes and it normaly takes 15 minutes. They are pretty accurate with milage and times unless they have sent you on a long route to avoid possible hold ups.

I think I got the last rooms at Holiday Inn Express yesterday!

The Campinile, Travelodge, Thistle and Hilton were all fully booked.

There are quite a lot of travel inns/lodges in the coastbound direction from Brands that are within a 30 min drive. I know this because I live near a few of them

I trailer slower than I drive usually... so we live about an hour and a three quarters away trailering.. (slow tow vehicle)

so we've changed our minds... we are gonna deliver the car sat eve... then go back home and come back in the morning...

Its probably only just over an hour non trailering time..

and I get to sleep in my own comfy bed !

cheers for the tips..

we'll make sure we book early next time. (We are moving to Yorkshire)

we live 15 mins from junction 24 of the M25.

So I'll jump on the M25.. go round , through the tunnel, and then round and find Brands.

The AA Site says an hour for this journey.

I don't do 70 when I'm towing.(or 60 down the country lanes to get to the M25 for that matter!)

I limit myself to 60 on the motorway, and whatever I feel comfortable with on the country lanes.. So I reckon it'll be def longer than the hour that the AA said.

btw,

I have noticed a red D Type in the final instructions for sunday...
Can I come and gaze admiringly at it at some point. ?

So I guess you are somewhere near Potters Bar way, you should do that in an hour to hour and a half towing or 45-50 mins at about 70 ish not towing. It normaly takes me an hour to get to the M1 junc on the M25 from my house which is a lot further from the M25 than Brands.
There are a few Dtypes both days, btw they are all replicas.
What car/race are you in, I couldn't see your name.

The falcemob were out today in race 14 and doing well (3rd challenging for 2nd) until uncle ecktic took the helm and decided avoiding oil slicks were for other people and promptly put it into the tyre wall, we ended up 8th which wasn't too sad. Sorry about the donuts, or lack of but I forget them but they do taste nice. if you are at Brands next Saturday I will endeavour not to eat them myself
A very good day though and thanks to the orange brigade for being there

Yup, saw you yesterday and spoke to Eric at the start of the day. Sorry to hear about the excursion into the tyre wall and trust the car didn't suffer too much damage.

Will be there Saturday and Sunday next weekend but wont know until the day which post.
