Not a great fan of fizzy wine, prefer a full bodied red or a dry white

Thanks for the photos Eric, I love the deserted pictures of the place. I have only once arrived as early as Tuesday of race week, but there was something magical about the whole place slowly coming alive. Somehow it has as much atmosphere empty as it does full.
(That was also the year my travelling companion and I somehow got locked on to the track in his Cobra replica on Tuesday afternoon as they painted the Ford chicane and had to be let out through the pit lane by a friendly American)! As for alcohol before the race, well for me it will be purely medicinal. |

I'm planning to bring some local South Carolina micro-brew beers and some Michelin goodies to hand out (haven't forgotten the Michelin tour, still working on that).
I was also thinking of brining some ALMS/WEC signed posters and hero cards that I have duplicates of. Would anyone be interested in those? |

I could bring some faggots, but that's more of a Black Country thing.

We've got our variations on pork scratchings too, and I'm actually very fond of a few of those with red onion or some pickles.

The Le Mans 2014 Traditional Ten-Tenths Meeting Thread
Pork scratchings? Utterly disgusting. But faggots, good faggots are delicious. My bro-in-law does some work for a butcher friend and keeps us supplied - Mmmmmm.

I'm not sure I'd want to bring fresh faggots over a week before the meeting in my luggage....

Trying to think of some 'traditional' Essex foods to bring (not native, I moved here) and struggling. All might be a bit tricky/smelly after a while/boring to bring:
* Mersea Island Oysters * Pie, mash and liquor (I know it's traditionally 'East End', but they all come here for the day and want to eat that!) * Maldon sea salt!!! |
