Tilke-Ring (DEU)

This is my latest design, the "Tilke-Ring" which encompasses the best parts, for me - of Tilke's tracks. Your job is to guess which bits, are which

Erm - I did use a rubbish bit of Fuji, but - it was needed to slow the cars down

Hope you like it

And obviously guys - there would be more grandstands

Clockwise, starting at the bottom: turns 1-3 Bahrain; turns 5-8 Malaysia and 9 too, probably; the big 10 in the top left corner is Turkey; I'm not sure about the chicane-like corner at 11; and the big 12 towards the hairpin is Hockenheim, although the original is more like one flowing left-hander, IIRC.

Send the prize to my postal address, please.

... And the final hairpin is Shanghai.

However, i really miss Sunway Lagoon Corner from Sepang in there - 'the old guard' of you will know how much i like that corner .

The chicane at 12 is from Fuji (Dunlop corner)

Yeah - basically just copied/paste some of the corners, and wacked them in. T_R, what is it about Sunway Lagoon, you like?

Your all pretty much right, so nice one

Sunway Lagoon is a splendid turn, as there's more than one line through it. It gradually tightens into a real challenge for the drivers.

I don't know what to make of it - whether it's any good or not (bit like Tilke's designs in general), but you can certainly overtake there, though. But, one tiny thing - I think you've got the Shanghai hairpin (the last corner) running backwards to what it is in real life - slight kink comes before in your track, in real life it's after!! Sorry to be a bit picky!!

Yeah - that was the intention mate. A lot of Sepang runs in reverse

Depends on what you mean by reverse, as the national sports cars are running the oposite way to F1

IMO tracks made up like that usually don't work - look at Magny-Cours (a lot of the corners are pinched from other tracks, like Estoril and Adelaide). Each corner has it's own elevation, surroundings and feeling, so putting it into another track doesn't really help. Even so, I did this "UK Super Track":

It is pretty awesome isn't it. I know jab from another forum, and I have to say - that circuit impressed me A LOT!

Absolutely. I've seen numerous tracks of that kind over the years here, and all of them end up looking somewhat awkward.

Which corners of M-Cours are from other circuits? I know Estoril is (Parabolica), as is Adelaide (don't know the name, but the hairpin at the end of the Brabham Straight), but I'm not sure about Nurburgring or Imola, or any of the others
