Mono at Oulton Park

I enjoyed the race at Oulton but what I do not understand is why did the Mono 2000 race have to be after 2 double headers. Waiting until nearly 6pm is a bit much especially when the radicals bi-duros (all of about 12 of them) had been out for 2 races.
On less of a Victor Meldrew topic, as I do not often race with the Mono crowd did anyone get any race photos of car no 42 - Black FR came 6th.

Nigel, You have the answer in your post. The word is Radical.

Unfortunately, IMHO because Mono drivers dont not need to be paid up members of the BRSCC (whereas most of the drivers in the BRSCC affiliated series/championships are), mono generally get the duff end of the stick when it comes to race slots. Its not the first time it has happened and a reason that a few dont do mono anymore.

Its also happened to other series/championships during Radical attended meetings, so Mono isnt the only one to be "Radical'd".

Roll on the MSV organised race days thats what I say.

I think on the whole we get a reasonable deal from the BRSCC and you cant blame them for prioritising the Radicals as they were the major support at the meeting. Money talks and bull**** walks boys and girls and Radical have created a great racing series of many levels.

Anyone miffed at the mono club should remind themselves that thanks mainly to Doug we got to race on the Silverstone GP circuit, you dont get that in BARC FR and you wont be getting it in MSV.

My only complaint with the Mono club is how they attempt to hold back technology (Aluminium blocks, Throttle boddies, sequential shifters) which seems a result of the personal preferences of our rather ageing leader. Once a year we all have the chance to change that and its the AGM that counts, not 10/tenths.

I think the Silverstone GP circuit race is quite a sore topic with the 1200 drivers...If the BRSCC think that the Radical races were the big draw then they want to get out and speak to the spectators - I spent most of the day watching the races by the 1st chicane and the most popular races were the FF's and the Mono races because of the big grids. 12 or so radicals do not make for an exciting race.
So long as the Mono club put up with being treated as bottom of the pile then this will continue.

Wrong although MSV don't run on the Silverstone GP James Beckett put on the Jim Walsh Trophy for FF1600 on the same bill.

See if you had a FF1600 you can race nearly every weekend

PS I have a R90 for sale if you are interested!!
