Go problem, he was quite talkative, said about Jeanney signing for the rest of the season, trouble getting the cars right and becoming a grandfather

As a result of his poor results no chance of good result in the championship standings he decided to rent his car to another driver (Solberg)?

Another non rallycross track that replaces a real rallycross track?

Why the question?

This is nothing to do with replacing anything.

The only reason this happens is the draw of Barcelona, they will market this to be close to a big city, full of kids, easy to travel to.

Looks who is sponsoring it? The same people who are sponsoring the series, do you think then that the track will pay the same amount that was quoted to Sosnova? Valkenswaard? Maasmechelen? So much that they would lose tens of thousands even after gate receipts?

It is the inward way of taking more money from each round, if you set up your own venue, do not use anyone else you make more money by not giving them gate receipts, and can put crap like jumps, tight ramming first corners in.

Simple business and area marketing, nothing to do with rallycross, if you could promote a race at a venue near Barcelona, not have to lose money to the organisers, or if you do, you charge them so much you price them out, what would you do?

Hence this year no Hungary, no proper Belgium, no Holland, no Czecho, no Poland, all rounds that got big crowds, but were run by the track owner no the championship promoter, pretty soon most rounds will be run like this.

Lord knows how Hell and Holjes make it pay with the amount they are being charged.

This is the answer.

Just read a comment on Facebook from someone I believe is a member of LDM confirming that he has lost his license for an unspecified amount of time.

Can't see any official word yet, I wonder if this is related to the Lydden incident or something else?

The license thing is still a mystery so you didn't ask.

If he refused to answer I assume you would have posted that on your website.

IMO It's bigger news than Solberg racing the LDM DS3.

Well... if it's for his behavior during the fire in his fathers car, it's of vey much interest to the people he bullied ( to use a euphemism).

From my point of view and pretty much anyones Liam Doran losing his licence is huge news.

The guy is supposed to represent quite a few big brands, and this needs to be out there for obvious reasons.

If nothing else to show younger drivers that gobbing off at people and being that way is unacceptable.

Who levied the ban then? Was at MSA or another governing body?

As for it being peoples business, of course it is!! If they want to hide it fair enough, but the MSA newsletter will have all the details.

I personally think that the various rallycross news channels are aware of the reason for the ban, with the growing rumours I can't believe that at least one of them wouldn't have asked the question yet.

I guess there is some reason they are withholding the information (wishes of the Championship sponsor perhaps?).

Playing Devils Advocate for a moment, if Liam has got a ban for the Lydden incident this year then that is rather unlucky. In my view the Doran/Lindefjell incident a couple of years back was far more serious and yet (to my knowledge) nothing came of that.

NB: In no way am I condoning verbal abusing track staff, however I view dangerous behavior on track as a more serious issue than poor personal conduct.

In other sports when they do not release the reason for a ban it is most often for a failed doping test. They won't release the details of the ban until the contra-test is completed. But that is in other sports, not saying that happened here...

If he misbehaved at a race you'd think there would be witnesses and all that. Patrick Mertens got a year ban for his deliberate ramming of Pauwels and subsequent celebrating. What Doran did must have been a lot more serious than just a bit of screaming I think.

So my idea is that it's not a charming thing for LD

If I remember well:
Patrick Mertens got a three years ban from his ASN for an attack on Koen Pauwels.
However, the ban was after two years shortened, for the third year with probation.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
