Shanghai (A Surprise for Winton??)
Can anyone confirm that the Chinese have pulled out of negotiations for the V8 race?
My information is that there was never any signed agreement to run the race in China and that it has now been cancelled. Any other info on this?? |

Would have thought they would have signed a contract, when Skaife and Johnson went over to Shanghai i thought Tony
 signed a agreement then :confused:

That was a letter of intent I believe... but not sure if thats still alive given that the deal between the original management companies in China and AVESCO fell apart for some reason.
There is also some doubt the circuit will be prepared on time too... What will replace the gap on the calendar? Another NZ round? Or another round at Eastern Creek?

IMO hopefully if they don't go to China the round could be given to another state than NSW as they have sufficient.

I predict that if the China round doesn't go ahead, the Black Wiggle will come out and claim, "AVESCO have listened to the people, because after all this is the people's category, and we aren't taking our product to China, we're going back to the Island, because that's what our fan base has demanded." Or something along those lines.

If Indy falls over Qld will only get one round. How about another one up here and not a bloody street race either. As for the China replacement i think Phillip Island is the best place to hold it.
