My point with the P-1 reference was to point out that the ACO may think/recognize they were to liberal with the homologated lumps in P-1 and would probably not be so liberal with the P-2 allowances/rules. As compared to pure race engines. L.P. |

on the other hand the power gap between P2 and GT2 is bigger compared to P1 and GT1.
But the ACO also wants to reduce P2 power .... Its time for the 09 regs .... |

At Le Mans the Dome Judd lapped as quick as the Charouz Lola, while Audi, with diesel power, are being left well behind Peugeots newer chassis, and struggling with the Lola. All will be revealed when Acura's P1 hits the track with a race engine. Last edited by JAG; 16 Aug 2008 at 18:50. |

On RLM Hindy mentioned Howard-Chappell "hinting" something about next year... did they actually live interview him pre-race/yesterday?

With a number of impressive showings from the Lola-Aston Martin LMP1 program in Europe, Howard-Chappell also noted that he’s been fielding a high volume of inquires about P1 engines for next season. “The ratio has been greater for calls about our LMP1 V12 engine, but that’s not something we’ll look to supply a large number of teams with. We’d rather keep a tighter control on where those engines go to insure Aston Martin as a brand is best represented.”

Well I have made a little discovery, I have found out that the GT1 winning car from this year has been sold to a Private Collector. Now what this means for the future I don't know, but IMO that means they have to being moving up into either LMP1 with a works team.

Wasn't that the scheme for the whole DBR9 program? Sell the cars to private collectors who let the teams race them to own cars with racing histories.

Werent the BMS Scuderia Italia DBR9's owned by a collector or collectors as well but were kind of leased if you will to BMS in 2006 and 2007 or just one of the year's?
Interesting about the LMP1 spec 6.0 V12 engine, seems Aston arent going to give the engines away willy nilly like Judd did with their V10 engines, wonder which teams have been inquiring apart from most likely the whole of the LMP1 grid in the LMS |

Probably teams who aren't already involved in P1, as everyone else seems set-up for the years ahead, unless you believe Aston Martin will sell engines alone, and not as part of the Lola package.
Vitaphone, Modena, Jet Alliance, Barwell etc? |

7 litre V12s from 177...
Looking good here. I cannot believe Judd EVER gave away engines. They are a tiny engineering concern in an industrial unit in Swift Valley, Rugby. Their neighbours were Miitsubishi WRC team... |

I don't think enough One-77s will be built to meet the engine production requirements for the 7.0L V12.

If it merely has to be production based, then the One-77 would have nothing to do with it, as it's all the same engine.

But is one of the the Charouz?, or is it AMR's own?, because then we could see 3 AMR Lola's next year |
