peugeot 306 diesel

thinking of buying a 1997-1999 306 diesel van

has any1 any experance with them

pros and cons

are they a ball of ****

I had a 306 DTurbo (car not van) for 7 years - only time it let me down was when the battery died (but it was a 7 year old battery so I'll let it off). When I sold the car last year it had over 160K on the clock and it's still going strong now. As long as you change the oil on a regular basis it should just keep on going forever.

I run Peugeot diesel cars and estate's all the time. As long as you(as Bert says)do oil changes also timing belt changes at regular intervals, they are as good as anything else. The only thing that can be a problem is the rear axle bearings (not wheel bearings) that "can" be a sod to do. Apart from that the engines are pretty bullet proof and do good mpg. Saying all that you could buy one of those vehicles that are always going wrong , but that is an exception and not the rule.
