Raven should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Hyundai Coupe

I'm considering buying a Hyundai Coupe as my next car.

I'm 25 and have only driven hatchbacks to date, so I'm looking for something a bit different. My budget can't really go above £10k and I don't want to buy anything more than 4/5 years old.

Wondering if anyone here owns or has owned one? By most accounts they appear to be a pretty decent buy, but are there any other cars similar to the Hyundai Coupe (in price & styling) that I should be aware of?

I was also looking at the Mazda RX8 and the cheaper Audi TT, but all things considered (mainly bang for buck - performance vs. price, insurance, running & service costs) the Hyundai is still on the top of my list.

I have one Hyundai Coupe on my books that I look after. All that I can say is that I think they are very cheaply made (not price-wise) and although it has been reliable as far as keeping going silly bits fall off and the heater blower is unreliable, also I don't think it even looks nice (ageism maybe) but only a personal opinion as car design can only be subjective !

Thanks Gordon. I don't agree regarding the way they look. What would you recommend that's not more than 4/5 years old, under 10K and not a hatchback?

If you're looking for a coupe on a budget that's unlikely to produce scary repair bills, you can't go far wrong.

But as with anything remotely sporty under £10k, be very careful. Get a good mechanic to examine it before you buy.
