Transporter Insurance
I have just moved to UK from Ireland where I have used a DAF 45/160 truck - 7.49 tonnes - to transport my racer. As there was no appropriate insurance category there for its use, we insured it as a horsebox.
Cover will shortly expire & I am about to reregister the vehicle here on UK plates as a private HGV. Can anyone recommend an insurer or broker who is specialised in this area - the sole use will be the transportation of racecar/tools/equipment, not for hire or reward. Would appreciate some comment from folks with a similar setup. Last edited by eamonn ledwidge; 6 May 2008 at 14:37. |

Iveco 3510 LWB Hitop plated at 3500 and fitted out as a motorcaravan, insured with Adrian Flux very reasonably.

No immediate plans for that Tim, unless you can secure a roads closing order. However, I am standing by for the call to take Ken away to his padded cell at the retirement home!
