98
98' was the best year for me (which is one of the reasons why i started to go back to BTCC rounds) as 97' was a boring Renault/Menu whitewash.
In 98' there were 3 or 4 teams all with competitive cars capable of winning (Nissan, Renault, Volvo, and Honda) |

I would say in terms of car looks, the 94-97s (before the wide wheel well arches were introduced) were the best looking. The cars looked a bit too "stock/street" without spoilers/splitters. But quality of racing? I think it was '93-'95, before the aerodynamics really started to get too much attention.
