WEC and Le Mans has always been mainly focused on the P1 battle, even if there is no battle. It has always annoyed me too.
Thankfully, especially in recent years, the ALMS has been showing more of the other classes.

Race position display
In 2012 we introduced the system in the Dutch Supercar Challenge.
and the teams themselves decided what the best spot was on their cars.
you can check the many available foto's on www.supercarchallenge.nl
We are now trying to get all the displays next to the startnumbers.
.
Any suggestions where to put the sticker based LED position displays are very welcome. The size of the display is approx A4 / US Letter format and we already had some questions about the aerodynamics impact.

Best thing about the ALMS coverage is they don't constantly cut back to the teams in the garage during the racing. If a Toyota dives down the inside of an Audi it is more important to see Dr Ulrich's face than it is to see what actually happened at the apex.

I think they have done a better job this year with following the action. Still good to see the garage's reactions to on track happenings.

I do like watching the Audi mechanics swarm the car when it goes in the garage.
It is absolutely amazing.

Yeah, instead they cut to the Porsche Cup, Green X Challenge, or a form of technology being used by a team.

Yes that is what I can't stand of the alms, or durning sebring this year on speed risi and srt going at it and then varsha says we won't go away from the action as its cutting to NASCAR practice.wtf?
And as for the wec it really irritates me how much focus they put to Audi and Toyota. I know they bring the money but who cares about the team reaction in the last minutes even when the Toyota is laps behind.ill agree this year has been a tad better, but last year specifically silverstone had me about ready to give up on wec, you see here on the west coast I have to get up early around 3 am or stay up late to enjoy such wonderful sports car races.but that race irritated me.it was clear who was going to between Audi and Toyota, you know I don't remember who won.what I remember in the last 20 minutes is the cameras focused on the garages and crew reactions.while hindy is going crazy with the gap between rebellion and strakka and aston and af corse going down.practically begging the director to show it.the rebellion pass on strakka is made and then after a while all of as sudden we see a Ferrari in the dirt.staying up 6 hours to miss the only actuall racing left to watch crew reactions was ridiculous.
The only thing to complain about grand am is Scott pruett and hi to my family.....also the commentators get annoying at times, or they say who won the conti challenge even though its tape delayed.but it's not to bad.

The best spot for viewers and spotters would be right next to the number sticker on the doors, but if not then one of the quarter panels would be another good spot. Of course, if this messes up the aero then there might be a lot less feasible locations.

I do like watching the LMP1 onboards at night.
The Peugeot onboard as it was chasing down the Audi for 2nd place at the 2011 24 Hours of Le Mans was amazing!

I love any of the classes onboards at night! Probably why I really enjoy driving at night, among other reasons...

I think what annoyed me to make the initial post, was in the WEC at Spa a few weeks back, the third placed Ferrari was closing on the second place Aston in GTE-Pro during the last few laps.
The cameras were just following random cars. Then just watching the Audi drive back down the pitlane after it had taken the chequred flag. While there was still good racing going on.
I admit the ALMS is probably better coverage at the moment but some things were similar and it was more recent hence why i ended up posting in this thread.

The doors of the cars would be a good spot, to keep it fairly uniform. Also is there any chance they will be color-coded to match the class of the car?
Nice to be able to give input.
