You peeps hear about the Senna movie? post your thoughts...
Apparently Ayrton is to be played by Antonio Banderas, and supposedly banderas has spent a large sum of time with the Senna family to aid in his role of the famous brazilian. Does anyone think it will work? i can't wait!

I just hope that they don't 'dumb down' in order to make it more accessable to the general public. If they do it will certainly turn off the real fans like us. It will be interestin gto see how they deal with this.

A lot will depend on who the director is. Senna's life was exciting enough for any movie, but some directors think that their movie should be far above and beyond real life and truth. Example: Driven. They made CART look like a series populated by juveniles and the races like gigantic crash fests with cars flying threough the air like freestyle motocross riders.
If the movie is shot and produced like Frankenheimer's Grand Prix it will be great for all race fans but deemed slow and boring by the critics of today. Unfortunately, how will they show any racing when Bernie wants so much money for the video rights? Old footage won't look particularly good and they will never be able to accurately duplicate the way it was on a set. |
