Osella should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Osella History

What are the high points of the Osella story?
I mean, best race finishes obviously, but also,
best qualifying positions, best race fastest laps and so on?

Imola 82, Monza 85 from a point of view of points finishes oh and Dallas 84. Best race has to be Canada 89 where Larini was running 3rd. Or Monaco 87 where Caffi was seriously hounding Teo Fabi until it went pop. I think Cheever had the Osella running in the top three once in their first season, maybe Spain?

or Olivier grouillard qualifying 8th or 9th for Pheonix in 1990 , that was pretty impressive , i believe he also did very much the same in mexico 1991 but had some sort of drama and started from the rear of the grid.

certainly not a fantastic team in the way of results but certainly a very valued and treasured team in the history of the sport.

was a sad day in 1992 when they finally closed their doors

You're thinking purely of F1. Osella built some successful sports prototypes before that, which were also used for the European Mountain Climb Championship (the Osella PA3 for example). See www.osella.it for more details (sadly lacking results though!)
