My New Car !!
well yesterday I bit the bullet and decided to buy a new car , all my life ive been driving around in bombs that usually break down and cost me money , so now I decided its time to buy a decent car thats gonna last me , and boy am I happy about it.
ok so its not brand new Monaro or dodge Viper but its very comfortable and has plenty of grunt and should last me ages. Its a 1998 VT commodore and I can hardly wait to get back in and drive it. just thought I would share my new pride and joy with yas all |

I'm not familiar w/ that make or model. Is it a snappy sporty type or a sensible sedan that nobody your age should be driving?

LOL , I wish it was the sports model Neil, boy are they fantastic , my brother has the same car but the SS model with the big 350 chev under the bonnet and all the wing kit and traction control and latest mods and its a real weapon, but for me it was the nice family car, comfortable and alot more affordable
but hey its the best car ive ever owned. and sadly im getting towards the age of a sensible family sedan and now I have one , but its still got enough power to get me into or out of trouble whatever the case may be at the time. i took it for a blast along a dirt road and she is very tail happy and doesnt mind to be stepping out sideways. I test drove a couple of cars including theis VT and an AU Falcon and even though my girlfriend is Ford all the way she had to bite her tongue and say she liked the Holden better so thats what we went for. |

Nice to see your optimism about the Holden reliability
But really, these seem to be the good things on the market at the moment. I've seen some series 3 AUs around for about $12K, and those and the VTs/VXs are still good sold cars. Anyhow, your probably better off driving an inconspicuous car like that, Police seem to pay special attention to you if you have a body kit and fat tyres Way to go! |

Good on ya Marcus. But your girlfriend is obviously the brains of the relationship |

at Moffat, and he would know being in a similar situation.
Great stuff Marcus. There is nothing better than a new set of wheels to put a smile on your face. Well, almost nothing. So Marcus (and Dia), when are you coming to visit me? |

GRRRRRRRRRRRRR , WHEN ME DAMM CAR STARTS
OMG , had the thing two days and just went out to get a DVD for the night and the steering lock wont come off , arm wrestled with the flamming thing for 30 mins before i gave up and rang roadside assistance , the guy showed up , tried the key and told me the ignition barrel is stuffed and apparently it is becoming a more and more frequent problem with VT's, of course I cant do a thing about it until monday morning so im stuck at home with a useless car (for now) but thankfully i got a fridge full of beer to keep me entertained. Im not really impressed but at least i got a 2 year warranty with the car so it will all be covered. and before you all Ford fans start laughing and carrying on I still say Holdens rule , at least it looks good sitting in the driveway unlike my last car wich was a Ford. |

Let's do a deal. |

No Ford and no beer.
You can always remove the ignition barrel and just use a screwdriver! |

sorry Moff , I dont deal when it comes to beer
I cant use a screwdriver either because the car has an engine immobilizer that can only be turned off by using the key which has a chip in it, great security ive got , so great I cant even drive it !!!!!!!!! |

And on the other hand - there's us guys getting amongst it in our Falcons. All pedal to the metal and barely a stiff ignition barrel in sight.
We aint too civilised - but darn aint we havin' fun! Hang on Sis! |

Pretty soon the only Holdens I'll see will be in my rear view mirror, quickly fading to black.

But coming from QLD, the car has probably been packed next to a golden beach all its life and has rusted through |
