So, to change the subject, slightly, is anybody thinking of going to see Kaiser Chiefs on the Saturday night? Do you know if we will be allowed to re-enter the circuit, after returning to the campsite? I recall in the past being told that, once we leave the circuit, we cannot get back in. I'd be interested in going along, but not if I have to lug all my gear around with me at the gig.

Wrist bands and camping plot details just popped through my letter box.
G9 for me this year. As in previous years I've setup a Google Docs spread sheet for those of us that wish to share plot locations and see where others are. Camping plots spread sheet |

I hope you all enjoy yourselves and that the weather is good for you.
We'll be "armchair marshalling" via the TV, so you will have to behave yourselves - we can be critical!!! We gave up the GP in 2002 (I think - the year before the mad priest) having found the excitement(?) and the cost just too much. I don't know how things work these days, but I got my first GP badge during my "novice" year. I did "grandstand cover" and then the night fire patrol before finally getting selected to go on the bank. The fire patrol was actually more fun! And Steve had better make sure his missus doesn't read this - BBQ washing up indeed!!!!! |

I was suggesting a 'situation' that could be faced by virtually any BGP marshal.
Unfortunately I won't be able to make the concert because of IOs briefing. It's one way to save £37.50..... |

Clerk's briefing at 1900. Attendance mandatory for post chiefs, flag marshals, IOs, fire tender/snatch/breakdown.

We are now building ourselves up to this - as armchair "weekend warriors"! Tinnies (or wine for the ladies), snacks etc going on the list - got to do that supermarket run.
Very jealous of you all but, as we don't do it any more, not that completely green. Thanks to Sky F1HD and the timing screen, at least we'll feel like we're there - without the weather! All the best to everyone who is going, whether new or old hands. We'll be with you in spirit (hic!)....... ENJOY! |
