JackN should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
There's also a tight tyre chicane on the exit of the Old Hairpin, to re-create a more street circuit feel.

That will add something then. One second?

A useful comparsion is probably the TT Zero on the Isle of Man, where the top bikes have gone from a lap time of 23' 22" to 19' 17" in five years. I suspect on a short circuit there's probably not as much to be gained and they'll be starting with the battery tech that the bikes have now but it does suggest several seconds are there for the taking as weight goes down and power increases.

Most of the current limitations (top speed, energy rate and total energy consumed during a race) are "FIA" controlled and seem to be significantly under the existing potential of the car/battery. So if there was a need to adjust these, then it is initially a regulatory change, not a technical one.

After all we could not have them showing up F1 could we?

The only time I've had to fill out a major incident form at FS was for an electric car at Silverstone. It was doing the brake test but didn't!

I think the hole in the wooden fencing is still there.

But we have had other "incidents" in the practice/brake test area, so I am not blaming the car, just the students but that is the joy of the event. They have to learn, as do we, and I can see it being the future.
