Hunter1300 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The conditions were pretty poor today the rain was not very good and some very very near misses, 3 wscs cars 'dropping' it at the top of crainers as the rain started certainly left me a tad worried but they all restarted which was a relief.

Entries were pretty poor I thought i expected a little more for my £15 an given there were four of us that £60+ fuel for an averagely poor day.
I know several people were missing from the grid as there is a 'big' race next weekend in the Algarve but never the less the falling numbers cant be a good sign for things to come?????

Suggestions on a post card??

Some beautiful machinery out there today. If only it wasn't so cold!
The sun (when it was out) in the assembly area was OK but for the rest of the time, yep, it was a tad chilly, even in the garages. I should be re-heated ready for tomorrow though.

The hail in the middle of WSM and SRM qualifying was interesting. Made the rest of the day entertaining as it never became dry.

The Pace Car spinning out on the second pre-start lap of the Canam Challenge felt fairly new, as experienced go. Still, the conducteur recovered things well.

First lap of GPM was interesting too. Well, to be more accurate, the first few hundred meters.

Hopefully all still to play for tomorrow.

What happened to the Mini's door? We were a bit bemused up the top of the circuit when it came round smashed up like that.

A BMW came in to the pits with a somewhat crunched front off side corner. Took a while to re-shape things off the front wheel with various tools.

Someone from further back along the pit lane was seen inspecting the front of the BMW as the work was being carried out and communicating in a way that suggest disapproval.

I suspect the two things might have been connected.

BTW, I was going to pop back and say hi later in the afternoon - I was on my way back to the pits for the race finish when I saw you. However with one thing and another it just didn't happen during the GP race and it seemed unreasonable to battle through the spectators meandering towards the paddock during the last race. Next time ...

The Mini was being driven through the chicane at ever increasing speeds, it's rear offside wheel getting higher from the ground on each lap. Finally the car snapped it's back end out halfway through but it was well caught, which on reflection was possible unlucky as the car then all but stopped sideways on the racing line and was collected by a bemused BMW driver. Both cars made a quick stop and then continued. I have sequence images and will add to the thread later today.

Ah, so the pit lane 'conversation by hand signals' was possibly not entirely justified.

thebullet has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Brilliant meeting... and I have no photos to show for it.

I went cameraless and really enjoyed watching the meeting.

Isnt Historic racing the best?

Sometimes you have to do that.

I enjoyed the last 2 races on Sunday from a good spectator vantage point that is not especially useful photographically but allows great viewing of much of the circuit. Nice sunshine too. And good company.

I know it looks that way but the BMW nudged the Mini and turned it fully into it's path where it then hit the door. The BMW has two areas of damage. I do have another image but of poor quality. I'll dig it out.

Looks to me like there may have been a little bit of over driving at play there. Not unusual for us amateurs.

What puzzles me is that passenger door in 3 looks to be already damaged plus the car is further across the track.

4 has the impact and the door perspex departing and the car is nearer the kerb.

Hence my assumption the 3 would logically come after 4.
