Marlboro to leave Ferrari
It has been announced today that Ferrari's long time sponsoring partner, Marlboro Tobacco products has announced their withdrawl from the long time F1 team, citing the various bans on tobacco advertisement and the failing economy as reasons of leaving the sport.

Well, Marlboro was announced as a Ferrari sponsor until 2011, no surprise to see them leave after an effective tobacco ban on the sport.

As a collector of diecast, this is good news. Now the model cars will have a livery that is the one the car actually races (excluding the older BBR's of course). Other than that not really a big deal IMO. Even in a difficult sponsorship environment Ferrari should have no trouble filling their engine cover and sidepods.

Well I think you got two people there Razor... But then again they might bring out the 'not April 1 in Europe yet' clause

Third one I've found. Seems some people actually believed this one too! Good work.

To be honest, even if it wasn't April 1st, this would be a good idea. I sort of knew that Ferrari were sponsored by some cancermonger, but really didn't know which one! So, that 'advertising' really works then!! And when Malboro is mentioned, I usually think of Mclaren!!
