Both are twin-turbo straight sixes though. My choice: 1st Place, Mazda MX5. Re-created the small sportscar segment single handedly. 2nd, TVR Griffith, saved the company and is still one of the prettiest cars on the road. 3rd, Ford Mondeo, brought driving dynamics to the fore in the mainstream market. The McLaren F1, although is probably the best car ever, is too unobtainable to be considered. The Sierra Cossie is from the mid-80's and the Escort Cossie is just a rebodied Sierra. The Skyline is too clever for its own good, and the Scooby only ever became legendary since Y2K (imho) once 2nd hand values started dropping. |

Bang for your buck (and in a price range us mortals can afford), the WRX was the car of the decade. But you never stay on top for long, and there are some very neat and quick little cars available now. Colin Bond, I really thought you were taking the rip when you voted for the VN, then I knew for sure when you voted for the Calibra. What was 3rd, the Camira? The holden trifecta they wished never happened. Last edited by Bluebottle; 12 Feb 2003 at 20:56. |

The Skyline has a 2.65l while the Supra has a 3.0l like most other Jap sports cars.
My vote: 1998 Ford Mustang Cobra R The WRX and Focus SVT were just realeased recently here. |

Supercars are really products of the eighties (think: excess all areas).
The nineties are generally characterised by a more moderate approach to things, but with the same old stuff going on beneath the surface (vis Enron et al). Thus my vote goes for the WRX. Business-like on the surface, party animal underneath. |

Has to be the R32 GT-R or the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VII, thumbs up to the Subaru WRX STi as well. fantastic cars each in their own right. I'm sorry, but the only Euro cars that register on my scale of good are teh ones that no one can afford, ie: Ferraris, Lambos, TVRs, Porsche and Mercedes Benz.
But then you could just buy either of the three I mentioned and wipe the floor with any cars of the above manufacturers . GT-R = best car ever in value for money stakes. Last edited by Bluebottle; 14 Feb 2003 at 21:43. |

I hate to sound like I'm nitpicking, but the wonderful Ducati 916 in all its Italian work-of-art glory isn't a car, so it dosn't count.
Sorry. |
