How's the weather today? I understand the Q session was red flagged due to fog yesterday.

The times indicate that it has to be pretty much dry.

BMWs on 4th and 7th, not too bad. The Z4 GT3 is 8th already too...

Qualifying is just ending, Marc Basseng has put the #98 Audi on pole.

They can penalise cars with restrictors or ballast between qualifying and the race. It's a 24hour race. Where's the incentive to go fast if you have a new car that hasn't done the race before, i.e. the BMW and Porsche Hybrids?

Actually both have raced before twice (See the first two VLN races)
Also - The hybrid is about 150Kg heavier than the Manthey Porsche, so its always going to struggle to get pole.
Whilst pole position is not as important in a 24 h race as it is in other shorter races, it is still a desirable position to attain.
I am not overly concerned, because what will really count is the race pace, and I also know what the #1 Porsche is capable of at the ring.
The hybrid will adopt a "tortoise" type strategy, so I don't expect it to be challenging for the lead, but rather a top 10 finish (as Porsche have said) or at very best a podium.
None-the-less. It was still an appalling performance for qualifying.

You think anybody was going 100% in the VLN races?

I don't know, but they were certainly going a lot faster than have done so far in this race.

The Audis won't complete the race without problems anyways so Porsche and BMW can very well give them the pole.

No one will care on Sunday afternoon...

Because all the VLN races use the Sprint version of the GP track plus the Nordschleife which is 24.433km, whereas the 24 hours uses the full GP circuit plus the Nordschleife which is 25.378km

I'm starting to think you don't Audi's Acid , you weren't ran over by one when you were a childern or something

All four R8 LMS's finished last year don't forget, but the 99 car did lose the win with driver shaft failure after leading a good part of the race.

They had it last year so hopefully we'll have it again this year. Looking forward to tomorrow's start! Gotta go listen to Qualifying as I missed out with work.

So for tomorrow, don't forget:

- Live timing: http://vln.wige-livetiming.de/index.php
- GPS: http://www.24stundenonline.de/index.php
- The one and only RLM media player stream: mms://mercury.sharp-stream.com/radioshowltd?MSWMExt=.asf or http://tx.sharp-stream.com/tune.php?...showltd&.waxr=
- Live Ticker (in German): http://adac.24h-rennen.de/Live.4059.0.html
- Live images? http://www.sportauto-online.de/24h-r...m-1265111.html Outside of Germany also, hopefully

If I missed anything or got something wrong, please add!

Radio Le Mans* commentary will be replaced by pre-recorded interviews & features through the night (0100-0600 for instance).
When they go off air, I will be jumping like a jumpy thing on the oppertunity to practice my commentary skills on www.justin.tv/raceradio (hopefully also streaming various random Nordschlife videos).

The reason RLM* stop is there are no TV pictures during the night - so it's not like they need to sleep (not sure those guys even understand the concept of sleep).
Likewise, I will be commentating without pictures so don't expect anything special (having said that, you can't see anything out of Snetterton's commentary box & I seemed to cope ok there).

*I have no link to Radio Le Mans, other than a mighty respect for their efforts.

Acid09 is ALWAYS hating on Audi.
Maybe he applied for a job at Audi Sport and got denied
Now he dedicates his time to trolling these forums with Audi hatred

Is it the usual free world live stream we've had for the past years?

I'm seeing all this sources so i'm guessing they aren't offering it for free anymore.
