Might have to walk me through this one. I don't have a clue on how to start the player on that site.

I don't get why he was putting his life in danger to make it back to the pits. In the end his brakes were gone I think? Fortunately he made his way out of the car!

Only 2 chasing Manthey now the #100 and the #99 as the #98 has stopped on circuit. The BMW M3 #25 lies 2nd but losing 10 seconds a lap on the Manthey car. The #5 Hybrid Porsche is still in the top 5

There was that tell-tale puff of something when the car pulled up... and whether it was steam or smoke, the fact that it was coming out from where it was coming out had to be a very bad sign.

Okay, I'm about to do the unthinkable and switch off for the night, got an appointment tomorrow AM.

They'll call it a Lamborghini V10 instead of an Audi V10 if it has failed due to something other than damage to vital ancillaries.

EDIT: Car has been towed into the pits now.

EDIT 2: I've just noticed that Graham Goodwin is also... erm... monitoring us from the studio down there at the Nurburgring...

I'm thinking the hybrid has a good chance... as long as it doesn't hit or get hit by another car. The Audi's really are having just outright reliability problems.

Tears for the #1. That was a real terrific crew for that car. I am eagerly waiting to know what the real story with that incident was.

Ferrari 430 is doing a stand up job too. This could end up like LeMans of '98 if everyone out there isn't careful.

Just like how Audi designed the orignal R15 for ALMS-type sprint races, the R8 GT3 was designed for sprint races. And maybe that's part of the reason there aren't R8 GT3's in Grand Am(along with homologation-which Audi has chosen not to do-and Porsche's row over the Prep-2 tube frame cars).

Could the fact that the R8's V10 doesn't use the split journal crank that the 5.0 Lambo V10 uses be part of the problem.

The #25 BMW has been in the top 10 for most of the race and is now in 4th. They've been looking quite racy every time the streaming has focused on them. While the Audis have been having their problems, the Porsches have also been having their problems, only 1 left in top 5. Still a long way to go so every thing can certainly still change.

From what information was available, the problem on the #98 was due to fluid loss resulting from an impact or going over curbs in a bad place.
